Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I'll say this, last year the marketing for TFA was ridiculously annoying, but it seems they have toned it down for RO. Last year you couldn't turn on the tv or go to a store without seeing SW...even at the supermarket!

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Bring it on......the hype is only bothersome if you allow it.....I tend to ignore much of it just look forward to the movies.

Yeah, get used to it. Well developed or not we're getting Star wars shoved at us every year from now on. Anyone else hope for a rebels mention in Rogue One?

As a collector's standpoint, I love it because the marketing for the OT will get better each year in merchandising. But as a movie buff, I feel by EP IX I will be annoyed with SW :slap

I just don't want PT acting and dialogue nightmares again with all these films planned with exception to the Rey saga :lecture

I remember while shopping at a supermarket I saw TFA oranges with BB-8 on the label. Lucas must be fuming I thought.

First SW sequel in 32 yrs with original cast deserved that level of marketing.

Lucas angry? No way, it was probably his idea :lol I mean, even before Disney, Lucas licensed the crap out of SW to sell all kinds of merchandise. We're lucky the original death star in ANH wasn't a giant orange. We still got those Ewoks though, just to sell some toys :monkey2

You'd think they would sell that blue milk Luke was drinking in ANH instead. :dunno

I don't want bad films....I think acting / dialogue issues went away with Lucas. We will get the normal formula just like all the franchise films (Marvel / DC / SW) and I enjoy most of those....I'm ready to see the next gen...

Selling that blue milk would have been classic! I would have bought some and drank it as I told my mom I wanted to go away to college.

Discovered Star Wars in 1995 and I was do burned out around the time the TPM VHS hit the shelves. Around that time, I went SW-Cold Turkey until that first Sideshow Vader in 2009(?) and it's been nothing but pedal to the metal since.

I do wonder when that'll happen happen:lol

Don't they sell it at the star wars restaurant at Disneyland?

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

This kind of fan minutia is one of the reasons I loathe most of Star Wars. That Hot Toys Rogue One Vader thread in particular is a hoot.

The reason the ANH Vader costume was so janky was because of budget and the fact that it was 1977, not because Vader fought in some secret battle between ROTS and ANH that dulled his armor and made his robes pop over his shoulders. :lol It's 2016, of course that **** isn't going to be the same. Just wait, I bet James Earl Jones doesn't sound the same. What then? Some contrived reason like Vader's voice modulator got damaged?

Who cares.

Oh **** dude. You know you just caused 93% of Star Wars fans to have an aneurysm reading that.

The people that have spent the better part of 40 years trying to replicate the exact scratches on Vaders belt buckle are plotting your demise.

You have been warned.

Exactly- from now on it will be MCU kind of marketing and a hope for $400 million domestic gross and Disney will keep greenlighting more SW every year. Nothing more- they will eventually fade way after we get a dozen more films or so...
