Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

While the trailer was serviceable enough, I'm feeling less and less excited by this with every new trailer.
I'll watch it in the theatres, of course, but for now, I'm not really excited.

Krennic and IMAX 3D would be the only reasons I want to see this film.

Great trailer!

To the people who still don't like it - how much did you pay for your Hot Toys RO Vader figure? :lol

It's funny because most other forums I visit are filled mostly with people excited about this movie. I also get the feeling that they are fans under early 30's. Maybe it's a generational gap thing:lol

Is anyone here over 35 and are willing to admit they're excited?:lol

I'm surprised to see so many people expressing a lack of interest in this, or predicting that the film won't be any good.

Sure! I'm excited to see it and I'm 43! Looks great! Loving the tone and visuals so far. I'm actually surprised by how much more epic this new trailer makes it look with the X-Wing space battles. I thought it was going to be a "smaller" movie, which also sounded pretty good.

Well for me personally (and I'm right over the 35 threshold), there is just so much geek stuff out there nowadays. We're bombarded with it. Movies, TV, video games, toys, lunch boxes, etc. It's frankly hard for me to get too excited for anything. My nostalgia has been capitalized on and exploited by big businesses for years. I'll still get stuff here and there, and I'll still watch the movies. But I'm not rushing out to the theater to see it on opening night. I'm not going to buy 20 variations of Storm Troopers from the newest Star Wars film, etc.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

It would be funny if they had an outtake with Vader putting his hand on his shoulder and asked " Do u feel in charge?"

TDKR is the only thing I know the actor from so I've been somewhat confused by the hype surrounding him. I must have skipped some popular TV show he's been in. Having only seen TDKR in which he's even shorter than midget Bane and gets killed by him after having a tantrum I'm currently having a hard time seeing him as a 'big bad' in Rogue One. But I guess he'll do well, people seem to have confidence in him.

I’m not there yet. I guess maybe I don’t immerse myself is as much pop culture as you or others do so I’m just kicking back and enjoying SW and Marvel stuff.

But I definitely would never run out to any movie opening night no matter what it was.

No such thing.

It's true. All of it.

Funny thing is Hardy is actually shorter than Mendelsohn. He was literally standing one full (12 inch) step below Hardy to make Bane look imposing.

You should watch NETFLIX's Bloodline for the full Mendelsohn Unleashed experience, but if movies are more your speed, take your pick:

-Animal Kingdom (2010)
-Killing Them Softly (2012)
-The Place Beyond The Pines (2013)
-Starred Up (2013)
-Lost River (2014)
-Slow West (2015)
-Mississippi Grind (2015)

He's pure gold in all of them.

What's so bad about opening night? Being at Thursday Premieres are the best crowds, IMO. The crowds are always enthusiastic and I guess I've been lucky enough to never have any immature idiots at the ones I've been to. Can't wait for Dec. 15.

Agreed.

There's no beating that feeling of being surrounded by equally stoked fans and basking in the glory of IMAX, specially when its real IMAX (TDKR, The Force Awakens, BvS).

Awww man. I bet they had to do so much of this cheating. Having said that Hardy still played Bane very well.

Thanks. I can confirm I haven't seen any of these.
