I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to the shadow, you can see the palm trees in black behind the characters. I guess it's just the characters "penetrating" the Death Star.

It's incomparable to TFA in terms of battle IMO. RO is an actual war, whereas, TFA battle was about how they can beat the villain so the TFA wasn't centered on the space battles so there really weren't many

TFA was a carbon copy of the first star wars so they were still missing the space battle lol

They are just attempting to make the movie seem timely, I don't buy it for a second. The Empire has always been all human, male and white in the movies, nothing new.

If anything, it sounds like the two writers are going rogue.

Hundreds of people got that film made, and it's probably irresponsible to politicize it in the press. But a lot of people working in film have egos.

FWIW I'm not American nor aligned with Trump or his platform, but I still think the writers may have made a bad judgment call.
