This movie looks great

Definately more space battles than TFA.

It's incomparable to TFA in terms of battle IMO. RO is an actual war, whereas, TFA battle was about how they can beat the villain so the TFA wasn't centered on the space battles so there really weren't many

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I'm 39.

No movie, ever, is ever going to truly "reach" me again.

Cause I'm old now and movies aren't very good any more. At best, I'll see a movie and be like "Yeah, it was pretty good."

Nothing's every gonna change my world like SW, Indy, Ghostbusters, RoboCop, etc.

Cause I was a KID. We may be geeks but we'll never be kids again.

PS....I think this movie looks like open butt.
I'm 26 and I'm already there, and every time one tries to be optimistic about something BAM!

But every now and then, something does reach me because I'm not held back by nostalgia much. Expectations yes, but unrelated to nostalgia.

One would think this would be self explanatory
Weren't you stating the obvious yourself in the GITS thread?

ie: this movie inspired in an anime that was inspired in cyberpunk classic doesn't look very original... :lol

Well funny you mentioned that. I remember the round table scene in ANH in the Death Star Admirals mentioning " the Imperial Senate " well I remember Tarkin saying that the Imperial Senate no longer exists. Those admirals made the senate seem like the higher power.

Well I always wondered what the Imperial Senate was , but of course they never really got into it in the OT and there was no Empire yet in the PT. So hopefully RO will explain and dig deeper why the senate was a big deal :dunno

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I never watched the OT growing up just bit and pieces and never paid attention to SW as a whole, but once PT started coming out and i got deployed to iraq on my second tour i finally sat down and watched them in order 1-6 and honestly when that scene on ANH came on it made perfect sense that the senate got dissolved, call it outside perspective, but despite everyone hating the PT, watching the trilogy makes all perfect sense. Rogue One is interesting but more so since we all know everyone either dies or disappears, i hate those inconsistencies, like in PT Yoda was awesome but watching the OT i was like how did he get that way.

It's the same senate from the PT. What else needs explaining? It was full of rebel sympathizers so the Emperor dissolved it.

Ending will be a happier one with not too much bad stuff..this is Disney cookbook working here folks...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I totally agree.....during the epic battle sequence the villian and main rebel antagonist will realize they share the same mother's name.......and before credits roll dirt will rise on all the rebel corpses giving us hope their alive!

Cookbooks gotta love em.........:lol

I hear in the end they survive and are rewarded with an all expense paid vacation to Alderaan.

It had become pointless by then anyway, the regional governors had all the power and the senators just agreed with Palpatine in the Senate even if they didn't really agree with his policies. It wasn't that the senators were sympathetic towards the Rebellion, those that were already part of the Rebellion such as Mon Mothma and Bail Organa were pro-Palpatine to his face whilst leading the Rebellion behind his back, the rest were just after self preservation. Palpatine probably kept the senate for so long as a matter of vanity to his ego and it also kept those he suspected of plotting against him close, when the Rebellion had proven itself he dissolved the senate as it had no longer any real purpose in his plans.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Everyone had it good, the empire created sooo many jobs creating vehicles and bases, while the rebels pocketed everything and depended on the jedi to keep order. To me in Star Wars the empire are the good guys, even in TFA, the first order are holding it down better than the rebels lol
