You know you will see that with the release of the 3D blue ray, right?

As a lifelong Star Wars fan I have very little interest in this movie. Was excited for the PT and it was average at best. Was excited for TFA and it was "ok". I have no real faith that anything new will ever equal the love I have for the OT.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

You are correct nothing ever will especially for those that experienced it during their original theatrical run.

As far as pop culture goes that is at the top for me as i'm sure it is for millions of others.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I'm 39.

No movie, ever, is ever going to truly "reach" me again.

Cause I'm old now and movies aren't very good any more. At best, I'll see a movie and be like "Yeah, it was pretty good."

Nothing's every gonna change my world like SW, Indy, Ghostbusters, RoboCop, etc.

Cause I was a KID. We may be geeks but we'll never be kids again.

PS....I think this movie looks like open butt.

.

One would think this would be self explanatory but to some not so much....its Star Wars and I enjoy the brand. Zero expectations i'll be blown away by it or that'll I'll recapture some childhood feeling....it's a popcorn flick and my expectations set as such....so I can still look forward to watching it

I mean it looks like what comes out of an open butt. So no, not good. Not good at all.

And I don't mean it "LOOKS" bad...it looks like there's some gorgeous shots of the CGI Death Star and CGI AT-ATs...like Battlefront but bigger.

But it looks like an absolutely terrible movie full of every lame cliche we've already seen a million times and now they shoehorned in another one with the "magic" necklace gift from the dead mom that's gonna save the day in the end.

I've read the backs of shampoo bottles with more originality than this soulless, sterile, color-by-number, assembly line product from the Disney corporation.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Movies today are original ..:). Big budget films along with some genre films (horror etc) follow a standard formula. We know what is going to happen before the movie ends we simply hope for a few cool or oh wow moments with good acting.

Glad I don't have lofty expectations to routinely get disappointed year after year. H-Wood lacks originality that's why we get all the great remakes

Anybody coming into this film thinking it will end sadly. I mean we already know the outcome from the result of the ANH.

So this band of Rogues really didn't stop anything. And they were never mentioned again so it kind of will be a somber feeling walking out of this film right ? :dunno

I have a feeling some of the main heroes will "disappear" at the end so they can make more spinoffs or shoehorn them into later mythos. The black dude will probably save the main character by sacrificing himself since he's old anyway.

See I see Jyn as a Joan of Arc type of character though..it will mean more to her character if she died. Unless they pull some BS and have Jyn tied to Rey somehow, then I would think Disney will truly Jump the Shark with this :pfft:

As for Whitaker's character, have no idea what they have planned because his character is barely being marketed :slap

I am going with an open mind. I love the original trilogy and each movie can be entertaining on different levels. I don't expect much out of Vader's appearance other than to bridge the trilogy's more together. I thought episode 7 was a good shot in the arm to get the new trilogy going and hope this will be good as well

True and it will be interesting to see a film without the use of light sabers or Jedi
