Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Yes, this post is 100% correct, I certify it with my PhD.

:lol

T2 is a better film than T1. Why people are still debating that is beyond me. Even Cameron thinks so.

Alien & Aliens are very different movies. I think they're both 10/10 but don't like to compare them because of how different their tones and genres are. Personally I like Aliens better, but recognize why Alien is deemed superior by many.

Well, I'm a bit of a Cameron fanboy to be honest. What people regard as his weakest output - probably Avatar, Titanic and True Lies - I still think are damn good films. So when Cameron says T2 is the better of his Terminator films I personally put a lot of stock in that - but others don't.

I hold the exact same position on the Alien films as you.

I guess it depends on which vibe you're looking for. T2 is a much more polished action film than T1, but I've always enjoyed Arnold as the villain more than as the good guy, and I prefer the low budget aesthetic of the first film. And I also love the T1 script because of how simple yet effective it is. T2 is a bit more complicated, which in many ways works well, but with T1... I admire its purity.

It seems that when it comes to writing sequels, one of Cameron's tricks is changing the style or genre, which is what he did when he wrote Rambo2, Aliens, and T2. All very different in style and more action oriented than the original films. I expect him to do the same with Avatar 2. I prefer T2.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

The biggest problem with people who hate the PT is that they oversell the OT. Nostalgia plays a huge role in what makes the OT into this sacred trilogy for said fans.

When I meet a person who got into SW recently they all tell me the same thing "What's with the profound hate for I - III? I liked 'em just the same."

That unbiased opinion attests to how much personal love and connection accounts for the overrating of the OT and underrating of the PT.

I personally think the OT is better, but ROTS is just as good as ANH & slightly better than ROTJ.

My position is and will always be that they're all good in different degrees. ESB being the prime filet and AOTC a semi-decent flank steak.

The whole "PT sucks, OT rocks" position robs one of so much great SW lore, unnecessarily. Its all canon, so just enjoy it.

I like this post.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Great psycho babble on the PT but try watching them alone without any external judgement and still not be embarrassed for tolerating them lol.

Impossible.

Even if you hate TFA for the Disney corporate agenda at least one is not embarrassed while watching it.

Lucas might've been a visionary anti establishment director at one time but that boat had sailed even long before he tackled the PT.

Seriously, 15 year olds cringe and are embarrassed by the PT.

I'm not saying anyone is wrong for liking them, I love some really bad movies myself...except Deadpool, I hate that ****er.

But the PT are not even in the same universe of quality as even ROTJ, forget ANH/ESB.

TFA is more like ROTJ where ROTJ had already lost its way but ultimately still delivered the goods in a satisfactory manner. It crossed the line with 50% of high quality stuff that defines SW as much as ANH/ESB do. One is not embarrassed while watching ROTJ, not even with the Ewoks involved. The freaking Ewoks seem more real than the human characters from the PT!

TFA limped over that line of good enough SW elements even if some of it was reheated elements.

The PT never finished the race to quality SW.

This post is 100% incorrect. This is flat-earth stuff.

Denied with my PhD.

Hey more power to you if you want to go to Harlem wearing a big sign over your chest that says "The PT Are Not Embarrassing To Watch, I Don't Care That Even 15 Year Olds Cringe While Watching It!" lol

15 year olds aren't watching Star Wars. They are out googlin' chicks and cars.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I was watching Netflix the other day and realized that Felicity was the main girl on the film " Chalet Girl " :lol

She's pretty good at acting goofy in a comedy

PhD in Memetics among other fields.

"what do you do for a living?"
"Yeah, I should tell you that I have a PHD"
"Oh really!?"
"Yeah a pretty huge ****!"

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I'm getting a PT vibe on RO- style over substance- it LOOKS incredible...but is there any story and good acting behind it???

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Lucky kids and their internet porn. When I was 15 I had to use my imagination. :monkey2

Are you 50? VHS porn has been around since the early 80s. I still remember the first tape I got my hands on. Cocktales: An Erotic Fable, directed by Ron Jeremy and starring Amber Lynn. Must have been '85 or something because my brother had just left home for college and I basically inherited his tapes during high school.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

She was pretty great in that :lol

Hard to believe she is 33 :horror

Actually I came across the film because I saw Ed Westwick was in it. And I thought let's see him in something other than Chuck Bass :lol

No, but I didn't have access to VHS porn, just the occasional magazine and briefly the playboy channel when my family and I visited my uncle :lol
