Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

What talent does JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy possess that uncle George did not/does not have? Ain't nothing new about TFA or Rogue One by the looks of it.

They're never going to be viewed as classics like the quaint Original Trilogy. They're just repetitive knock offs for Disney.

:lecture the truth

As opposed to not showing anything and not explaining how she dies?

I'm not saying your idea isn't an improvement. What I am saying is that if it's that much of a bother just say Vader damaged her. No need for back n forth editing. No need for cozy and safe revisions as to how she died. IMO, of course.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Did Lucas ever explain why Qui-Gon's body didn't disappear when he died? I mean if he was the first to live on after death then why didn't the body disappearing stuff start with him?

One of those things that became needlessly complicated by the PT.

Also how the hell did Ben Kenobi talk to Luke after he died in ANH when he had no force training if that was required as alluded to by Yoda at the end of ROTS?

Of course not. More proof that the whole PT was written without very much thought for the details. :lol

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Music, Obi-Wan, Maul and to a certain extent Qui Gon were the only great things to come out of the PT.

That and of course Ian.

But Obi-Wan needs to come back.

Yoda also disappeared in ROTJ and Qui Gon never shows up after he dies, not even in ghost form for some reason :lol

The only explanation I can think of is that Qui Gon didn't died of natural causes like Yoda and Obi. He was killed by Maul when he wasn't expecting it.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

But Obi sacrificed himself, Yoda died of old age and Vader also sacrificed himself to kill the Emperor.

Qui Gon got his ass handed to him lol.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Eh? When was the last time you saw A New Hope? Vader cut Obi-wan in half :lol

Not really. Obi stopped fighting, then closed his eyes, did like a meditating pose, and then Vader went fro the kill, but even Vader was confused by what happed. He was literally touching Obi's clothes with his feet, checking to see if he was hiding :lol

Nerding out here...

I remember reading somewhere that the official explanation is that Quigon and Vader don't disappear when they die because they figured out the secret themselves and so the transition is a bit more difficult.

Obiwan and Yoda were both trained in the technique and so they were able to pull it off with a bit more style. :lol

OK. Still unnecessary complication of something no one particularly cared about when we just had the OT but ok, I guess.

>people still defend TFA over superior PT
>they're consistently less people defending TFA over PT over time though
Feels good.
