Wasn't that Lucas's main argument he used though to counter all the PT hate, the PT movies were meant for kids.

I get what you're saying but hokey yes men and ancient excuses are no match for a good writer at your side, kid.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

BY ALEX OSBORN During the production of Rogue One, George Lucas shared a few words of wisdom with director Gareth Edwards when he visited the film's set, and Edwards has since revealed the advice he received.

"He said, don't screw it up," the Rogue One director jokingly said in an interview with a French talk show during the Rogue One's press tour (via SWNN and ComicBook.com).

Edwards went on to say that Lucas was "incredibly gracious," acknowledging how crazy an experience it must have been for him to be shown a Star Wars film created by someone else.

"I think there are two things that are incredibly surreal that you can do in your life. Number two is having to show George Lucas your Star Wars movie. Like, that was really crazy," he said. "And I think number one is to be George Lucas and have someone show you a Star Wars movie. So I felt for him, and he was incredibly gracious."

Lucas also poked a bit of fun at himself while giving advice to the Rogue One director, referencing back to his use of a lot of CGI for the prequel films. "He joked a lot about how we should do more in the computer, and not build so much," Edwards said. "We didn't take his advice. We tried to shoot as much in-camera as possible."

I'm probably older than you so I get the role of Han. You may need to play Luke. All the films were for kids but your not wrong about good writers.....not gonna happen with all the studios using these formula strategies when making a film.

Lucasfilm President Says She Doesn’t Need to Cater to Male ‘Star Wars’ Fans
By Kyle Foley|2:51 pm, December 1, 2016
Ever wonder why Star Wars decided to make Mary Sue character Rey their main focus for The Force Awakens? Well, according to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy it’s because male Star Wars fans don’t need to be catered to anymore.
Kennedy was chosen to replace George Lucas, the creator of Lucasfilm and Star Wars, when Disney bought the studio in 2012. Since then she has done a fantastic job running the studio, to the tune of $2 billion in revenue from The Force Awakens and over $3 million in merchandise.
In an interview with the New York Times, Kennedy addressed her decision to cast a female lead in her second movie in charge, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. “I have a responsibility to the company that I work with. I don’t feel that I have a responsibility to cater in some way [to those particular fans],” she said. “I would never just seize on saying, ‘Well, this is a franchise that’s appealed primarily to men for many, many years, and therefore I owe men something.'”
The movie, starring Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, opens on December 16 and takes place between episodes III and IV.
In the same New York Times feature, Jones said: “We wanted the audience to relate to Jyn as a person, whether you’re a boy or a girl, a man or a woman.” She added: “Like all of us, she’s trying to work out what the hell to do.”

Other than he going full autist with the kids comercial, he's right :lol

SW is officially ruined and for cucks/tumblr fanfic fans only.

Will not pay to see RO, but will still buy PT and OT toys :lol

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Ha! I knew that was their agenda. :lol I'm glad she's admitting it.

They know the SW fanboys are indoctrinated to buy anything with a SW logo no matter how bad it might be. Ironically, Disney bought Marvel and SW in order to appeal more to boys since Disney films and franchises don't have a strong male fanbase like girls and their Disney Princess brands.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

These agendas just make me wanna turn away from these- plus I'm a grown up and kiddie crap and poor craft in films doesn't cut it for me
Which is why I still say BvS was far braver and took more chances to be original than anything Disney can even dream up these days...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I'll catch the Vader and Tarkin scenes online.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

WHY did YOU SAY THAT NAME

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I'll stop watching SW movies when I think they are no longer good. I know many do not like TFA but I did quite a lot and will go to Rogue One with hopes high it is good. But I'm not overly excited for it. I am also not overly excited for the young Han Solo movie either because it seems really unnecessary. I am looking forward to Episode 8. I like the new characters, cannot wait to see Luke and they have a great writer/director.

Basically, until Disney begins producing movies I no longer like I'll keep going to them and at least giving them a chance.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

What else is good in the theater to see?

I mean its a Star Wars movie......any Agenda is what YOU make of it.....

I didn't really like Ghostbusters 3 but not because I felt there was a secret agenda against men....I just though it was not that interesting or funny.

People read into things too much. There is not a giant conspiracy in Hollywood to neuter males around every corner.....They are trying to bring a female audience to Sci Fi. They have been doing that since Firefly and BattleStar. Its a wise move to increase your base demographic.

giphy.gif

So long as the movie is enjoyable, who care about what some self important persons tell you what the message should be. Frozen was a great Disney film....I explode with laughter every time someone claims it was Disney trying to increase lesbian exposure....

Some times a film is just a film.....and this on has a female lead. OOOHHHHH Scary stuff....

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I would also say I'd stop watching any movies when they are no longer good, but the amount of SJW agenda driven content in movies directly affects their quality, not because I disagree with their message, which is dumb, but because they don't care about the product, they only care about spreading said message so they hijack a channel to spread it through.

Good goy.

Not like both writers and the boss of lucasarts literally came out and admitted to an agenda. :lol

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Knowing there is an agenda and folks with issues around it begs the question: whose the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him :lol

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

You realize you're saying that the folks with issues aren't the fools that follow the first fool right? :lol

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

complain about the formula's, agenda's whatnot participate in forum discussions, watch the movie, trailers, buy merchandise etc. is serving the evil empire agenda.... promote, promote, promote.....Just because one complains but yet still participates doesn't give one a get a get out of jail free card. They too support (following) the fool....I do it with full clarity not masking behind denial....:wink1:
