Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

I thought about that, but this scene even with spoiler tags is a ban. It's as bad as putting the Vader scene in there. It's click-bait. Someone will cry and complain.

Whaaaaaa.....a person clicks something in a spoiler tag and it's the persons fault who posted it......:slap

No, its a trick, he means a crappy HT figure... not a good one.

Besides, I already told him the guys you'd want to ruin it for have already seen the movie. Multiple times.

Yeah, the victims would be innocent bystanders

It's funny, for a movie that people admit immediately is flawed, many still rank it 3rd. What's that say about most of Star Wars? :lol

The franchise is still only 2.5 good films out of 8.

I remember when it was 2 for 2. And then 2 for 3. For many, many years. Then came the dark times. The PT.

I guess Fett is being saved for the Han movie.

Jango Fett's action scenes were some of the best parts of the prequels, so Boba Fett could be a cool villain in the Han Solo film. Hopefully they get the original actor to do the voice, and not the prequel actor.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Really liked this... solid 7.5 or 8 out of 10.. Repeat viewings are needed to know for sure. But I thought it was better then TFA and of course the PT

What I loved
Final Space Battle and seeing some of the old pilots in there.
General Tarkin having a pretty big part in the film.
The Rouge one group as a whole was pretty good with K-2SO, Chirrut, Baze, and Jyn being the best of the bunch.
Freaking Vader's rampage!!!
Orson Krennic was a pretty good villain. I thought he was better then any of the villains in TFA
Final battle on the beach.
Chirrut kicking stormtrooper butt
OT cameos... I thought Leia was just fine cgi wise.
How it tied into A NEW HOPE... Loved that it was what Leia's line was and then the story goes into A New Hope... Perfect.. Loved it.
Seeing Stormtroopers back in action.
Vader in Bacta tank.

What I did not love.
Was a bit slow at times. I worry how it will effect repeat viewings
Could have used a better lead actor.. I did not care for Cassian Andor
Even though I liked the Cameos I did not care for Dr. Cornelius Evazan and Ponda Baba.
Could have had a bit more comic relief like OT but it was not that kind of film.... But still
Musical score could have been stronger.

What I hated.
Nothing.

Like I said.. I really enjoyed it. No real complaints. It was a SW prequel done right.

Well almost every film is flawed. Star Wars and Empire and certified classics and almost impossible to like up to.

ROTJ has always been considered the wink link until the PT came out... Then it became a classic SW film also :lol

If I can get Rouge One quality out of the rest of the SW films I will be a happy man.

Part of it's flaw is the fact that we are dealing with characters that are brand new... So even thought its SW its not SW :lol... Probably the main thing that keeps me from ranking it better then ROTJ right at this moment.

Actually given the fact that Michael will replace John as the composer he actually did pretty damn good, watched it a third time and realized that this is not a SW film, just a tie in, therefore he actually did a pretty good job starting from scratch, I am completely sure he will do amazing once his time comes.

But this film was reshot, reworked, AND had Tony Gilroy involved. That might be a magic formula that can never happen again. Lightning in a bottle.

And if boxoffice is weak (by expectation), then they won't even make the effort to match this.

I think we should all be very happy we got this. It may be the last time. Not sure they'll ever be able to top that battle sequence though, not in this generation.

You bring up a great point about any future space battles. How much bigger can it really go.

So what does E8/9 have up its sleeve then?

Definately not another Death Star after Starkiller.

Sith army me thinks.

But i'm sure there will still be more wars in space.

Its not bad... Just lacking... He only had a month to do it. I have the Score and it's OK. It sounds like Williams.. But it sounds more like PT Williams then OT Williams. Really it was just one great theme away from being a very good score.. He tried with the new imperial theme and its only OK.

ESB style third act with Kylo fighting Rey again or fighting Luke. The film opens with Poe and Finn fighting the new empire while Rey teaches Luke about the force.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

I want a Jabba or Bounty Hunter flick......I think those type of characters have more creative freedom around the story and personality of the character. Any film based on an established character i.e. Solo, Kenobi etc. will be expected to follow pre-established "behaviors" created in earlier films. I think that'd be a recipe for disaster... i.e. Solo film. Actor won't have the freedom to bring his interpretation to the character, he'll have expectations to be true to Ford...meh.

The freedom of story and characters help make this entertaining long as it's true to the universe not a character.

.

Does not have to be bigger... I still think Empire's Asteroid chase is one of the series best "space battle" moments. I could have used a little more of main characters being involved in the final battle in Rouge One. It was a great scene but could have been better with one of the main characters flying around up there. A little more focused. I loved the final battle but actually still think I like the ROTJ battle better just because Lando and Wedge were up there.

Speaking of Wedge.... Where the hell was he!!! Man it would have really been the icing on the cake if he was in there.
