Picked up the novelization. No mention of Chirrut and Baze being a couple. Phew. It's specifically called out that they see each other as brothers.

Would it have ruined the characters if they were a couple?

I don't get why some people get so worried or upset about fictional characters sexual orientation :dunno

Great read, thanks for that.

If there is an afterlife my core want is to be with my wife, son and sideshow freaks forum lol.

Since time will no longer matter / exist, I wonder if when you wake up that your loved ones are right next to you as they were when you died.

Who's to say that when you wake up that your loved ones lives haven't already finished their course and they also died and everyone just wakes up together with everyone experiencing each other at the ages they desire.

Because I don't know if I want to witness them living their lives and also suffering.

If i'm not going to be with my wife and son then just forget it all lol.

Then again not of that **** exists because do you really think i'll be sitting there with my son playing Xbox in the afterlife lol.

What i've always wondered is, if they are as you remember them, are they really themselves? Or some westworld-esque copy made by whatever your deity is? If you want to be with your wife and son, its only reasonable to assume that your son would like to be with his eventual wife and children someday. Presumably not living his afterlife in the body of his childhood self. If he is with his family, and you are with your family, doesn't that mean that you are hanging out with a copy all day? Even if it is made to be perfect, wouldn't the knowledge that it isn't really the person you remember bother you?

I don't know, stuff like this keeps me up at night lol.

Ruined? Not sure. Tainted? Absolutely.

Are you really under the impression that everyone condones the homosexual lifestyle? Why would someone want fictional heroes to participate in something they consider immoral? Imagine if Han married Leia and another chick. Sure polygamy is practiced and even legal in certain places but that doesn't mean that everyone would be happy with Han having two wives.

As it does me lol.

Yeah, it will all have to be very malleable for it to work lol.

I guess it will be what you want it to be.

You want your wife, son/daughter, a ferrari and sex with 3 cheerleaders then just make it so, not like you're pressed for time because you have to go to work that day lol

Why would it taint the characters for you? It's not like it's an established character like Luke coming out or anything, which would go against him being attracted to his sister in previous films. :lol

Here's hoping Poe is shown to be a homosexual in the next film. Or Kylo.

and Rey and Finn are in a relationship.

Hmmm, I need to prepare myself for a romantic scene between Poe and Finn:

Finn: Stop that.
Poe: Stop what?
Finn: [timidly] Stop that. My hands are dirty.
Poe: My hands are dirty, too. What are you afraid of?
Finn: Afraid?
Poe: You're trembling.
Finn: I'm not trembling.
[Poe moves in closer]
Poe: You like me because I'm a scoundrel. There aren't enough scoundrels in your life.
Finn: I happen to like nice men.
Poe: I'm nice men.
Finn: No, you're not. You're...
(Poe passionately kisses Finn)

I updated my post above. The reason is because I consider homosexuality immoral and don't want to see "heroes" practicing it. *Especially* if it's a progressive left wing agenda being crammed into a narrative that has no place for it. No different than the tub scene in BvS tainting Superman. Not gay but still immoral and unbecoming a hero of his stature.

You're free to have your own convictions and can desire whatever agendas that you want played out in fictional stories, but I find it odd that someone would be confused as to why others would not want to see something they disagree with as being moral.

I'm sure Disney will cater to your wishes before too long. There's been too many indicators from various sources that it'll happen sooner or later (probably sooner.) Until then I'm happy that I've got an awesome RO and OT free from such trappings.

There are no gays in Star Wars just like there are no bras or underwear in space.

George Lucas' universe, sorry.

I suppose it's because everything these days has to have a hypersexual sub-context and some folks are tired of it.

Wait, I don't get... why does that scene taint Superman? It's a heterosexual relationship between two consenting adults. Albeit one of them an alien...

Just for the record, I'm fine with homosexuality and gay relationships. :peace

I would love if they made Poe or Kylo gay. I welcome the diversity and I think it's important to show representation for the LGBT community, just as it's important to show representation for every culture, race and community. The diverse cast of Rogue One was something I really adored and I hope Star Wars (as well as other major franchises) continue to embrace other cultures, races, and represent communities in major roles.

I'm also way in support for getting rid of any racist, sexist or homophobic B.S. too (especially in this day of age since the recent election) - so I love that a lot of these blockbuster films have cast non-white love interests like Tessa Thompson, Zendaya and Laura Harrier. I can already tell I am going to love the diversity in the new Spiderman film. I'm still bummed they didn't go with any of the diverse rumored top runners for the female lead in the Han Solo film.

Because Superman is a role model for kids and there he is having premarital sex like it's no big deal.

What about Finn?!

One of the things I loved about Rogue One was the complete absence of sexual love, whilst giving great examples of platonic love. One of the greatest moments in SW for me now is that moment with Andor and Jyn on the beach before they die. There were no exclamations of love. No sloppy wet kisses. Just hands held between two people who were fellow travelers on the road to the grave. It was beautiful.

Think this is why I love this movie so much , no happy ending

What's not to be serious about? Khev is saying to HIM that he's finds those things immoral so they would taint the characters for HIM.

Personally I don't want to see any gay characters in Star Wars either or really any other franchise aimed at families.

Something I find funny is that all these franchises have been pushing their gay/feminist agendas yet the X-Men films which would be the perfect franchise to push that, hasn't at all :lol

He was clearly interested in Rey so I don't think it would fit the narrative they set up.

Rey and Finn are just friends. There was more romantic chemistry between Finn and Poe than, well, anyone else in that movie.

I hope Rey and Luke end up becoming a thing, it's the most realistic scenario.
