Disney didn't invent the idea of people doing ghost work on movies. I'm sure Gilroy knew exactly what he was doing when he cashed the check.

Fake news.
Yeah, this isn't an Ozzy Osbourne/Bob Daisley situation. But I'm sure guys like this would love to get more of the credit they deserve. On the other hand, when producers jump in a **** a movie up, Suicide Squad style, you also don't get anyone else taking the critical fall. So, the primary directors aren't buffered from all risk here.

These characters really have nice arcs (as much as can be hoped for in a fantasy war movie anyway.) Cassian is all about the never-ending mission, Jyn doesn't care so much about the missions because of her wounds from feeling emotionally betrayed by her father and Saw.

However each of them in their final moments provides peace and healing to the other.

Jyn gives Cassian the assurance that "the mission" was not in vain ("Do you think anyone up there is listening/Yes, I do") and he finally acknowledges Jyn on an emotional level ("Your father would have been very proud.)

The way Cassian hesitantly hugs her suggests that it's probably the first hug he's ever had since he was 6 years old. You don't get much more bittersweet than two characters being healed of lifelong wounds seconds before their deaths.

Coupla deleted scenes from the comic adaptation out this week...

Best Buy texted me to tell me my order was ready to pickup, went there, they refused to give me the order due to street date. I was a little pissed at the inconvenience. Dont ****ing text me its ready, only to refuse to give it to me!

Had I had it shipped, I probably would have had it by last Saturday.

Fascinating stuff. Funny that whenever they were stuck on a certain story point their motto was "Well let's just do whatever the opposite of A New Hope was." RO is kind of the anti-TFA in that regard. :lol

Also cool that Gareth "got" that Vader always has to be the biggest character in any given shot, regardless of whether he was in the foreground or background. Not something that ever really occurred to me.
