Maybe they really wanted Tony Gilroy but he sucked at making things look big so they got the Godzilla guy.

:lol :lol

Disney meeting with Gilroy and Gareth went something like this:

Disney: "Make things big"

Gilroy: Cleans ear, sniffs finger

Gareth: Cleans ear with a school ruler, sniffs ruler

Disney: "Gareth hired, understands scale"

True story!

Fascinating stuff. Funny that whenever they were stuck on a certain story point their motto was "Well let's just do whatever the opposite of A New Hope was." RO is kind of the anti-TFA in that regard. :lol

You know what that is, every interviewer now is trying to get Gareth to spill the beans on the re-shoots drama.

But Gareth ain't no stoner Trank, dude is too much of a professional to ruin a good thing he's got going on for himself.

Meanwhile Gilroy at home watching this interview:

How about this idea.....

Disney should've released RO bluray with both endings.

Lived / Died

I prefer the died version that we do have though lol

It seems that Gareth prefers the died version even though he is fond of the beach run.

I guess releasing both versions wouldn't work lol

Disney didn't invent the idea of people doing ghost work on movies. I'm sure Gilroy knew exactly what he was doing when he cashed the check.

Fake news.

Agreed. :lecture

Except for those crazy people like Darth Snoopy who sprung for the digital download. :monkey3

Guilty as charged. :lol

But I dumped $100 on lotto tickets the same week and won only $20.00.

They never filmed the ending with Jyn and Cassian surviving. It never made it past the written page. And to this day all of this finger pointing about what Gilroy did or didn't do and did or didn't get credit for is still based on one Hollywood Reporter report with no named sources. It's all just unconfirmed rumors. Since Gilroy worked with Kennedy on the Bourne movies and again with Edwards on Godzilla common sense would suggest that it was an amicable partnership. It almost sounds like Gilroy might be Edwards' personal "Fran Walsh." :lol

People are all "OMG Gilroy filmed key scenes in the finale" (assuming that's even true.) Well Peter Jackson didn't film one frame of the Aragorn/Lurtz fight at the end of FOTR. It happens on even the very best movies and isn't a big deal.

Oh I thought they filmed quite a bit of that other ending.

It still would've cut to the Vader assault and Leia ending but I wonder if they would've shown Cassian and Jyn at an Italian style cafe. :lol

Yeah you couldn't just show them fleeing on a shuttle because then it would beg the question as to where they were for the rest of the OT. So we would have had to have seen one extra sequence of them living happily every after somewhere while the ghosts of Galen and Saw nod at them from across the cafe. :lol

What I would have liked to have seen was the more extended ending they did film, with the group having to run across the beach dodging the AT ATs (or whatever new name they have) to get to the radar tower located apart from the database. That would also include the group running back through the subway station.

Yeah right now my plan is to buy a new disc each time I want to watch the movie.

Well, you could buy a different Target Exclusive for every character insert they have, that's what, 5? BB Steelbook + Wal-Mart exclusive + Regular Blu + DVD + Zavvi? That's 10 copies, that might get you through the first week.

The regular Blu is still the best looking of the bunch, but I need to have the 3D.

Agree and the one I will be purchasing. :) The BB Steelbook looks like crap!

The case sits on my shelf with only the sleeve showing so I don't care if the cover art looks like crap. :lol

Does anyone store their cases with the front cover facing out like wallpaper lol.

I display mine forward if I have them with other collectibles. I keep my regular copies on the shelf.

Only reason we got another TFA release was because of the 3D. They wont do that with RO. They already did, only thing that could happen is if they release 4k, which still hasn't happened on Disney, Marvel, or SW films. So it's safe to say, this is all we'll get til next year for TLJ.
