Rogue One = Top Domestic earner for 2016... beat Civil War easily.

Khev should be proud.

Well I definitely did my part to get them there, lol. Hopefully the success of RO tells Disney to make more gritty action pictures and NOT to simply make "Rogue Two." We'll see!

I am absolutely addicted to their humor, they are incredible comedians.

BUT I didn't see their RO review!

That will be immediately rectified. :hi5:

:hi5:

I just fnished watching all their RO trailer reaction videos leading up to their review which i'm about to start now.

Holy crap they made me crack the hell up.

We should form a silly group like that just to be fan boy dip****s lol

Oh man I just watched all their trailer reaction videos now I have to go see what they're saying about TLJ. Hilarious stuff! Did you finish their full RO review jye?

Starting it up right now.

What I find infectious about them is that i'm an outsider white guy who is obviously a passionate geek myself looking into their culture version of geekness even if they're guilty of exhibiting the stereotypically over reacting super emotional happy and crass black person behavior.

So a huge part of my enjoyment is watching that play out with them.

Plus they just add a great layer of opinions by having 4 people interacting and their freeze frame video format is utilized to great comedic effect.

They definately blow away RLM stale sarcasm format.

DT humor can't be touched. They're very well articulated while also being rated R and they let the one white guy have his say lol.

Their BP videos are filled with lots of excitement to say the least lol. I get enjoyment of watching them having something to celebrate.

Corey actually reminds me of myself, a flipper who leans MCU lol which is his reputation on the show.

SW flips troopers like hamburgers lol.

Now I can't watch RO without picturing five guys hamburger lol.

Go to the 7:20 mark and listen to his Stormtrooper commentary lol

They get so caught up in the minutiae lol

Yes their commentaries strike an awesome balance between "fanboyism on their sleeves," measured critique, and just enough irreverent comedy to keep it wildly entertaining.

I like how in their full review Corey is able to gush about the movie but also step back and explain just why RO appeals so specifically to a certain kind of fan. And holy crap lol about him saying that

RO's finale made his pubic hair retract into his body and turn him into a little virgin fanboy again.

O...M...G :rotfl

Yep I saw that they let the one guy who hated it have his say. Of course I took his criticism as it being "Ingloroius Basterds in Space" as a compliment so there you go. But I was crying with laughter when they were debating whether Cassian should have made a move on Jyn at the end and the dude in the hat was all "do you really want to risk having your last moment in life be you leaning in for a kiss and the girl pulls away?" :rotfl

Holy crap that was hilarious. Definitely a moment where you settle for the hug instead of "ew" and then gone, lol.

I haven't got to that part yet, can't wait lol.

Corey brought up a great point about the little asian girl crying, saved by Jyn but like everything else related to Jyn it ends in misery and death

Jyn is a tragic character on steroids, damn lol.

After she watches her mom die and dad get taken away the sum total of all of her joy for the rest of her life can be measured in seconds. A hopeful smile when Cassian agrees to go to Scarif with her, an elated grin when taking hold of the physical plans (before watching Cassian fall to his apparent death) and then whatever warm fuzzies she felt on the beach. After a crappy ass life all she had to look forward to was basically just dying with a clean conscience and that's it.

Wow Goodwin really blew his attempt at a Cassian/Han correlation.

Martin put him in his place quickly.

I like that Goodwin cat very smart kid but he blew it lol.

I hope to never see Geonosis ever again.

RO i'm dying to go home and watch it again right now lol

Yep every time someone mentions it I can almost hear Maz Kanata saying "The RO blu-ray, it's calling to you, just put it in..." lol

Apologies in advance for slight thread detour. Hahaha yes you got me. I caught your post in stasis lock, made a cup of tea and then sat down to pen my reply.

I knew you'd go there with the prequels ... everything is proceeding as I have foreseen (evil chuckle). Now I pettily remind you that from my point of view RO is a sequel to the PT or if you will a prequel to the OT [zaps you with prequel force lightning]. I know at this point that Khev cannon is protected by ray shields which are virtually impenetrable. Yes whilst Rebels and the Rogue One prequel (there's that word again) novel tie it altogether nicely I realize that the SW EU has no effect on you only OT and RO movies. You know the other points already but I remind the Senate that there's Saw Gerrera (a character from the clone wars), Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma (both returning actors from the PT) as well as designs from PT featuring in RO.

Whilst you take RO as an FU to the PT I see it as a bridge between the OT and PT. And yes right now they are treading carefully with their PT throw backs so as not to scare away the Khevs. But before long and as the PT generation gets older we will begin to see this happen with more and more frequency. I know I know you will of course erase these move movies from the Khev Cannon Archive Memory ... but what will you become if Disney Wars produces a movie that is undeniably linked to the PT and is as good as RO?

[many minutes were wasted writing this response]

That's just one more aspect of the genius of RO. It literally works equally as a bridge to the PT *AND* a giant middle finger depending on what you want it to be. Of course I choose the latter. :D

As for Jimmy Smits, as I've mentioned before him in RO doesn't bother me. I honestly see him as a "different" Bail Organa. Just like PT Obi-Wan and Anakin are different, and Fett, and so one. "But Khev, it's the same actor! They must be linked right??" Again, no, Ian McDiarmid and Anthony Daniels both play the same OT/PT characters and I have no problem disowning them when necessary, lol.

There's even a precedent outside of Star Wars. Have you seen the Cameron Crowe flick "Vanilla Sky?" And the Spanish film it was based on called "Open Your Eyes?" In both movies Penelope Cruz plays the exact same character and fulfills the exact same purpose. Only difference is that she was a mime in the Spanish version and a dancer in the American. I thought it was a bit odd that she agreed to replay her character in a remake of the original film but it was fascinating to see her "redo" the same, yet alternate, role. And that's what Jimmy Smits did in my eyes. He played the dorky "mime" version of Bail in AOTC/ROTS and the bad ass alternate Bail in Rogue One. :D

Yes here we agree... it was a good move on Disney's/LFL's part to approach it this way.

Right ... ok ... ahem ... yeh ... sure ...

Meanwhile:

Shield_must_be_deactivated.jpg

You can see here, the Khev Canon orbiting the forest moon of FU PT. Although the weapon systems on this Khev Canon are not yet operational, the Khev Canon does have a strong defense mechanism. It is protected by an energy shield which is generated from the nearby forest moon of FU PT.

Ackbar-briefing.jpg

The shield must be deactivated, if any attack is to be attempted.

DS2plans-ROTJ.jpg

Once the shield is down, our EU sources will create a perimeter, while our returning PT actors fly into the superstructure and attempt to knock out the main detractor.

LOL! Somebody rep this guy! :rock

And I understand why us OT fans are so annoying. We're like Kyle Reese. From another time and our arguments are intricate yet don't require a shred of proof. :yess:
