Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Was thinking was it necessary to introduce new style stormtroopers to the film, death troopers ex. The continuity would make no sense in the scheme of things. This is based before ANH and the OT, well my question is ( story wise ) if this is before ANH, why don't we see these different style stormtroopers in any other OT movie.

Of course theoretically and the reality is these are new designs made up for the new film, but again through the connection to the story of SW, are we to assume all these different troopers just get killed off in this film, and never to be featured again? Or are they part of a fleet that disappeared in this time line.

Well, the Scoutroopers were only in ROTJ

The Snowtroopers were only in TESB

Does that bother you? Probably not, so I wouldn't get too worked up about new troopers in this movie.

:exactly:

They could be tropical troopers.

Looks pretty cool to me.

A blind Force sensitive martial artist using it to fight looks cool to me too.

So why would they need to steal the Death Star plans after they have all ready blown up the 2nd one?

:huh

Personally I like seeing new types of troopers.

I'll just leave this here:

But that's still Alien make-up like I said before :lol

Oh for god's sake.... there were just as many "white causcasions" in stupid masks with silly voices as there were ethnic diversities in stupid masks with silly voices.
No one was safe from Lucas.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

That was my point.

And there's Watto too. :lol probably my favorite, how Lucas was able to get away with that in Hollywood? I'll never know :lol

But it was an even playing ground? For every JarJar you had a Jango, a Mace Windu, a Lando. So not sure what the point is. Except that Lucas was bat **** crazy at times. There was nothing discriminatory or racial about it. That's why he "got away" with it. The PC generation just look for **** to ***** about.

For the record, i don't like the blind-asian-martial-arts character either (not yet anyway), it's not a racial slur just a movie cliche. As are a couple of the other "diverse" rogues. They look like they wandered in from another TV show. Too "earth" too "human" "too cosplay" for the SW universe... IMO
The leads look pretty good though. Diego is cool, as is Felicity.

No no, I'm not saying it's discriminatory or anything, I love that ****, I don't care about PC or social justice, I'm against all that whiny ****. I wish there was a Mexican Alien stereotype in the SW movies.

I'm saying that at least they used to be creative about it. Unlike today.

I also hope I end up liking Asian blind dude, but my first impression of him was that he was lame.

Diego is probably gonna be good, he's a good actor but he's often underused and ends up being killed :lol

And I said that before you did, btw (look it up).
Still your point is not valid because Alien make up or not PT ruined all the Asian related dignity OT had.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Not really, being in make up it's still within the illusion, so they're not "really" Asians.

Had this guy been in make up, which would spice up a pretty boring character design as it is, I wouldn't think it ruined anything.
