Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

This is a much better trailer overal IMO.
:rock

I do like both trailers, the biggest difference between the 2 is Mothma's lines about a major weapons test (which I love).

US trailer has the guy asking if she can be trusted without her shackles which is removed in this trailer which now gives Mothma more time for extra dialogue, specifically that they intercepted a transmission (Star Destroyer and Death Star now shown at a different point during Mothma's speech).

Lucasfilm must think that international fans must still think that Bothans stole these plans so they added the intercepted line to Mothma's dialogue. :lol

I wonder why the Tie sound effect at the end was toned down for the international version, are you guys easily offended by that sound?

Man, that Asian martial arts blind dude is laaaaaame.

Sure SW is cheesy, but it usually masks the racial clichés and cheese behind alien make-up :lol

Yeah, it's a old term but has been "adopted" by keyboard bashers as a way to show their calm superiority.

And I was actually using the word Millenial in a post modern way, as it itself is the most retarded of all these "cool" terms and words.
:lol

Who's the guy in the helmet at the end of the trailer...sounds like he could do with an inhaler :rotfl

Looks pretty cool to me.
We disagree... So you're wrong...

Seriously though, really? Must be one of the most cliché things in Star Wars to date... I mean, way to ruin all the tasteful Asian influences that already exist in SW, one of them being in the end of the trailers.

A blind martial artist Asian dude.... Really? :lol I hope he at least has some kick ass TK powers or something, and he's not all martial arts.

Yup, it's probably a nitpick but it does ruin his entire look.

Was thinking was it necessary to introduce new style stormtroopers to the film, death troopers ex. The continuity would make no sense in the scheme of things. This is based before ANH and the OT, well my question is ( story wise ) if this is before ANH, why don't we see these different style stormtroopers in any other OT movie.

Of course theoretically and the reality is these are new designs made up for the new film, but again through the connection to the story of SW, are we to assume all these different troopers just get killed off in this film, and never to be featured again? Or are they part of a fleet that disappeared in this time line.

In short I still have a problem that this is set before ANH, it should've been set shortly after ROTJ, that way there is no continuity issues in all these new ideas and characters comparing them to the flow of the OT theme. There would've been more freedom to develop new characters that made more sense IMO because the OT would've been over with.

I would assume that, like all military units, they're used for specific situations that we don't see in the other OT movies.

People are overall pretty smart.

So why would they need to steal the Death Star plans after they have all ready blown up the 2nd one?
