Hmm, getting a little concerned. I got an e-mail from KG Hobby that says my order has been updated to
"e status of order #### is now Awaiting Shipment".
Hopefully it just means that I have One reserved.

I got the same email once I'd placed my order; in fact I got two emails, one to say 'thanks for the order' and that second one - I just assumed it was to confirm that the order was placed and the item reserved. The order page on my store account says awaiting shipment too.

Will have to pass on this, even on its so called limited edition # I wanted this but for the cost of a Hot Toys figure and a company that don't carry a official license and charging that much? Well congrats to the ones who wants this that badly. If it was $130 I would jump on it. Maybe they'll make another version with less assesories as a gladiator version for $130, I'm in.

When you receive the figure depends on when the store gets the stock in; but given that KG Hobby are in Hong Kong, I'd expect they'd get theirs reasonably quickly. There are two shipping options, Registered HK and EMS. EMS is faster but will cost an extra few bucks.

It does seem excessive, but ask yourself, knowing the quality of ACI, does it look like it's worth $180?

Not really, no. Ignite is turning out figures with metal armor at almost half the price.

Here's an interesting FYI.....

I was a summer intern for ReSaurus Toys back in 1999. Remember them? They had a chance to make a number of movie toys and passed...for example....Sleepy Hollow, Blair Witch, Galaxy Quest......and oh yes.....a sword and sandal epic called Gladiator.

Had someone with a little more vision been in charge back then, we'd at least have had well articulated 6 inch versions of the main characters. Oh well.

PS....nothing was ever sculpted....except for Galaxy Quest....some initial prototypes existed.

Man thats too bad! But that means that the license was up for grabs with the likeness'?

But now what? I hear Crowe doesnt give out his likeness so itll be SOL if we ever want a licensed Gladiator Maximus?

But again, years ago I was told Anthony Hopkins doenst give out his likeness but NECA got it.

And Jack Nicholson doesnt give out his likeness, but HT got it for the Joker. So who knows.

Yeah but ignite look crap most of the time.

The bodies and head, yes. But you're still getting metal and leather for close to $100. This figure, as it stands, is overpriced. Especially given it's not even licensed.
