I believe Tamashii is finally "learning the ropes" so to speak. It's obvious at first they didn't even realise the potential goldmine DBZ had & still has, which is why they almost ended the line. DBZ is alive now more than ever, with the success of BoG & a new movie set for release next year (arguably, DBZ has never really experienced a "down-time," it's always been popular since the late 90's & throughout the 2000's when it was finally dubbed in English after the Frieza Saga). Quality takes time, but more releases each year would be beneficial for both parties. We're not getting any younger, and it would suck waiting till my mid-30's for Nappa or Shenron to finally be released :gah:

I've been thinking of a quarterly release with each quarter focusing on a specific Saga. Q1 Saiyan Saga, Q2 Frieza Saga, Q3 Cell Saga, and Q4 Buu Saga.

I'm not sure where to put Movies, Namek Saga, Android Saga, and World Tournament Saga though. Q1 and Q3 can get away with one release with in those respected quarters and Q2 and Q4 can have two releases. That would come out to six releases a year, seven with the SDCC Exclusive.

Yeah im with sup, ss3 is the biggest candidate for a major redo. Im among the minority that think ss3 Goku is ok when you take into account what they were going for, but a less orange skin and lighter gi would make him so much better.

Mark my words. 2015 SDCC will be SS3 Goku!

That, or a Krillin repaint with the skin-tone eyes :lol

Ah my mistake then, I thought we were talking about rereleases in general.

No worries, I don't think I did a decent enough job on referring to that in all of my posts. I would be up for any re-releases, to be honest. Especially the really expensive ones. Super Saiyan Vegeta the most because it's ridiculous how expensive it's going for considering that there's not much contained in the actual box. I think I'm more surprised about Vegeta's demand, really. That's why when ever Majin Vegeta comes out, I'm going to at least order two right away instead of waiting.

Yeah, assuming a majin Vegeta comes with regular ssj and majin heads I would order two aswell since its technically two figures.

The skin-tone eyed Krillin could be an SDCC Exclusive accessory kit with all of the heads, including the one from Android 18.

This made me think of something. Does Vegeta transform into Super Saiyan 2 when he becomes Majin Vegeta? If so, did he have a different hair style?

I see only downgrades. Not only regarding the line around his eyes, but the whole sculpt seems to be less detailed. I can barely see his mouth, for example. We know that downgrades are normal from prototype to mass production / final product figures but I wasn't expecting so much downgrades. I hope this is not the final product, I want shades, details and thin lines... :(
No downgrades in the sculpt, it's the same. The difference is hand painted mat colors on the shape which creates sharp shadows on the surface. But a final product that uses dyed plastic instead paint, you see subsurface scattering defusing the light beneath the surface, which polluted the shadows with transmission, making softer shadows that make the detail less apparent, but it's still there.

Just like in CG images:

Render engines use ray-tracing to imitate light rays in real life.

You can see this for yourself if you compare SSj Goku (who has a mat finish on his gi) and SSj3 Goku (who has a base gloss) You see that SSj only looks sharper,
from far, but up close you see that it's the exact same sculpt for the gi.

The general formula for Figuarts is to only use mat finish on the clothes, while leaving the skin to be subject to subsurface scattering to look somewhat like real skin, Krillin and normal Goku where the only ones to break this formula.

This made me think of something. Does Vegeta transform into Super Saiyan 2 when he becomes Majin Vegeta? If so, did he have a different hair style?
I don't think there is an official thing on this, but he did power-up just before fighting SSj Goku, and he gained the electric effect in his aura. his hair looked like it had more divisions in the spikes, but that particular difference was only noticeable in the scene where he power-up, after that there was no way to tell the difference.

I Miss Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3...
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is made by the same guys who did the Budokai series, it looks like they are going to take some inspiration from the Tenkaichi series as well as other DBZ games.

From watching the gameplay videos from the beta, I can see that they took the best features from every DBZ game of the previous generation, and merged it into one epic game.

Re-releases in regards to SDCC Exclusive. Super Saiyan Vegeta would be difficult to get away with since there's not much, if any, repainting to be done. Perfect Cell can easily get away with a SDCC repaint with a much lighter color of green closer to the anime. (Which would be strange because aren't most SDCC Exclusives repainted with a darker shade?)

Would Trunks be qualified enough for a repaint, though?

I agree. The only major difference I can think of between Saiyan Saga Vegeta and Namek Saga Vegeta is the lower body armor. Although, Frieza Saga Vegeta is more associated with the shortened armor, right? Not a bad idea at all. Having the main villains is great because you definitely want to pose these figures fighting. It'll be interesting though to see if Tamashii is interested at all about previous forms of Frieza and Cell.

Your idea about re-releasing Super Saiyan Gohan in between those two months doesn't sound like a bad idea though.
Trunks wouldn't but at this point, honestly, we shouldn't try to bank on SDCC repaints. It's just not a good idea. When you think about it, SDCC Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta have such a different paint job from their regular counter parts that it's warranted, Gohan's is more subtle but it keeps a sense of consistency. No one else in the anime has such a different paint job from what I'm seeing. SSJ3 Goku wouldn't be a bad idea because it would address complaints. I personally don't like the paint job either, and it ruins an otherwise great sculpt.

They could re-sculpt Trunks though, a Bojack release perhaps or do an armor variant. Frieza Saga Vegeta has no 'skirt' pieces/flaps, or tail. You could technically buy another Scouter Vegeta and take them off. he also has part of the shoulder pieces blown off too, before switching the vest armor. We do need a Majin Buu regardless...the good thing about Majin Buu is SSJ3 Goku fought all three of his forms - Fat, Super (even if it was the absorbed ones) and Kid.

Gohan manga re-release would be great honestly. Hell, they could have released him now to compensate for the longer wait between Android 16 and 17. It'd be a good idea after Goku and Piccolo...why he still ISN'T re-released makes no sense at all.

Perfect Cell's colors seem inconsistent...like a few other things in the anime like Gohan's SSJ2 hair length :lol that may have been lighting in your pic, since that was broad daylight. I've rarely seen him in light colors.

A Cell SDCC could work, just to get Cell out again. A SSJ3 Goku repaint would be great. SSJ Vegeta SDCC should be a manga version, but flat colors not pale colors, with tiny hints of shading like the SSJ Goku and Piccolo re-releases from this year have with flat yellow hair. Same for Gohan having slight hints of shading instead of being extremely pale. Trunks should be the same as what I said for Vegeta.

Next year I would like to see adult Gohan, Buu, Vegeta w/ Majin faces, and a SDCC SSJ3 Goku because of Vegeto and DBZ Kai on Buu Saga now. Then 2016 have a SSJ Vegeta SDCC or Trunks SDCC, unless they decide to re-release web exclusives by then, and in that case a Broly SDCC being extremely pale with almost green hair or extremely vibrant skin with very yellow hair depending on how he tuns out. But I would like Nappa, Raditz, Beerus, Whis, and Yamcha/Tien for 2016 and Yamcha/Tien be the first release of 2017. i do not believe these will come out in the next 2 years though. (I don't particularly want to partake in predicting what I think will come out and not what I want to come out, but if you're actually interested in my opinion pm me for it or ask me to post it in the forum and I will respond accordingly)

Also can they do movie exclusive figures? I feel like they can if they wanted to and could release a special SSJ Vegeta for next years movie as it's supposed to be focused on him.

I'm thinking the Tamashii sculptor will make the similar divisions in the spikes to stand out from regular Super Saiyan Vegeta though.

Very good points.

I think re-sculpting is more of Tamashii's area. It'd be interesting if Bluefin would be able to release a SDCC Exclusive of Trunks with the armor, simply using Super Saiyan Vegeta's body and Trunks' normal and Super Saiyan head. It's a strange assembly, though.

Yeah, Buu in any form is welcomed but I feel they're going to do the similar approach they did with Frieza and Perfect Cell by developing the final form; Kid Buu.

Definitely, I get the feeling that Tamashii is purposely trying to wait re-releasing Super Saiyan Gohan off as long as possible. They have to know that he's the only other figure that won't go against their "web exclusiveness" policy.

Perfect Cell's colors do seem brighter due to broad daylight in that photo but after Arlian Vegeta was released it's not far-fetched that Bluefin could repaint their figures based on any appearance.

Bluefin seems to be focused on anime based colors for their re-releases. I think it's the only way Tamashii finds them acceptable. SDCC Exclusive Perfect Cell and Super Saiyan 3 Goku are the top two candidates at the moment. It would be interesting if Bluefin can get way with Super Saiyan Vegeta, using the same blue they used for Arlia Vegeta, it seems quite darker than the original version, and darker shading on the hair.

Which version of Adult Gohan are you interested in? I think Broly will be more pale compared to his prototype. Raditz is at the top of my list for releases.

Feel free on posting your predictions for what you think will come out. All opinions are welcomed. I honestly believe Tamashii will surprise everybody, well those that have been asking for him, by releasing a Buu Saga Tien in the next two years. Along with Majin Vegeta, Super Saiyan 2 Goku, Kid Trunks, Goten, Videl, Adult Gohan, and Kid Buu. Not in that specific order. Still unsure of characters that will be from different Sagas, though. I hope Tamashii doesn't focus all of their releases on Buu Saga characters/designs.

We cant be sure if he already had ssj2 since he didnt transform until he became Majin, but the way he talks beforehand indicates he already had access to it, getting angry at Gohan for becoming soft for example, Vegeta wouldnt have gotten angry unless he himself knew he could do the same.

I agree that this statement is most likely true, but if they are smart money making wise, they will do a manga SDCC SSJ Vegeta, and they should do a larger quantity of them, I say this because he will sell out fast and they probably want the most money they can get.

I'm interested in Blue Gi Gohan with an ultimate Gohan head for a Goku body.

None of these are in order
Next year- Android 16, Vegeto, Gohan re-release, SDCC SSJ Vegeta, and a Buu
2016- SSJ God Goku, Whis, adult Gohan, SDCC SSJ3 Goku, Beerus, and Buu Saga Vegeta with Majin faces
2017- Nappa, Raditz, SDCC Trunks, Tien, Yamcha, Cell Jr and Saibamen packs(can be S.H.F or Zero)
2018- 2015 Movie Villain, normal Broly with switch out parts for SSJ, SDCC normal Broly with blue SSJ hair, form of Vegeta, form of Goku, Bulma

I actually think SSJ Vegeta will be the 2015 SDCC because the movie next year was said to be focused on him. Gohan should be re-released, Tien, Yamcha, Trunks SDCC, and Cell Jr should come in the following years to end Cell Saga. Nappa, Raditz, Saibamen to finish off the Saiyan Saga. BoG characters. Majin Vegeta and adult Gohan for the Buu and Vegeto the previous year(pretty obvious but I went ahead and said why).

very sugoi, blogness-chan ^__^

i am still waiting for someone to create their own smiling/smirking SSj face custom...
