I hated GT for the sheer fact that little normal kid Goku, would display SS4 power at times

So many instances where they only fought in normal states and would go blow for blow with villians, like WTF?

Multiple universes wouldn't merit the same exact people I don't think. Plus, would you really care about a Goku or Vegeta in a different universe more than the one we know?

I think the Gi is to reflect Goku's God status.

I think Goku's new attire is simply what he wears training on other worlds than earth, and Vegeta's seems a hybrid between bulma's armour and guess what? The armour Frieza killed him in.

I just don't know how Beerus and Whis will factor into this. Beerus wanted to kill Frieza, he stated that openly, he was tired of him. It seems weird yet the only conclusion that Frieza finds a way to become more powerful than Beerus... But then there's Whis who I assume is even more powerful considering who he is?

So I don't get it, unless they're doing a cop out and are just 'meh, you cute little folk handle this'.

It would be cool we got more backstory on Frieza.

I hated it all around for nerfing everything about the characters, who worked to get that power. I don't even understand how Kid Goku can't maintain SSJ, SSJ2 or SSJ3 yet somehow kid Goten, kid Trunks and Gotenks could maintain all three! I know neither of the three ever went SSJ2 but it's noted that they probably can go to it. And somehow SSJ4 can be maintained? I remember seeing some instances where it got blown out of the water so easily - lame. You're right about normal states btw.

...then again, maybe discussing GT isn't a good idea with how bad this thread has gotten at times due to it

I'm glad to see that their costumes are changing, especially Goku's. He has been in the same gi for pretty much the whole series. The orange and blue gi was worn by way to many people. I understand why, but I don't like it.

I kinda agree, if it's toriyama designing it, I kinda prefer it even. Tough luck if I happen to like it less, but I still agree the switch up is nice.

But I've always seen the costumes as linked to the time period anyway. Yes Goku normally wears the orange gi but he still does so here. Except piccolo and the classic Roshi outfit, there's no true uniform for any z fighter imo. Which is kinda what I like, it helps differentiate it from the western CB tradition.

I like that Goku and Vegeta are getting new outfits, though for a movie set in "peacetime" earth he really shouldnt have saiyan armor on dammit.

I really hope they grant Frieza immortality or something, so he actually matters again. Frieza was always my favourite villain growing up, even if he was weak in comparison. He was a tyrant, ruthless and uncaring, and would squash anyone in his way.

There's only one TFS version of a character that I'd genuinely wish were the legit one and that's Frieza. I find the real frieza incredibly annoying, I really cannot stand him. But that made me only more invested in the heroes' battle so guess that made it very enticing.

If I have to sell any of my SHF Frieza is without a doubt the first to go. I just couldn't not buy him because he's such a staple for the show, but dear god how I loathe him. In terms of character I mean. Maybe it was just the voice actor that made me dislike him so much.

However, I really hope Vegeta gets to destroy him for good this time around, his rival has, his son has, and his son's rival has, let Vegeta finnish it please.

Frieza was voiced by a woman in the anime actually, while the Kai one is a man. The Kai one and TFS sound very similar, so you may like the Kai one more. Personally that's one of the best parts of Kai along with teh lack of filler.

Manga Vegetto looks better as well.

I think I'm kind of mixing up my own feelings, because I hate frieza, but that's kinda what you're supposed to, since he's the evil guy. I don't hate the character as in I wish it didn't exist (like badidi), it's just not the way I can say I "like" cell or the twins because they're actually cool, imo. Frieza's not cool to me, though a great original staple design, he just annoys me.

Wasn't frieza meant that way? Like, to be a really annoying creepy dude who constantly acts like a spoiled brat who can't admit defeat? Obviously he's quite a good character if that is the case, it sure as hell came across to me.

I think in general I'm not as big a fan of villains as many people are. That's what I really liked about Beerus btw, kindof beyond villainy, just amoral, with a destructive agenda. I guess Frieza's much more the truly classically evil dude in DBZ.

Guess it makes sense to reuse him, iconic as he is.

I would actually choose the anime version. I don't mind the manga version at all but the anime version makes the striations in the hair stand out a lot better. If that were an SDCC Exclusive, I would buy one.

What is there to focus on with him unless he to some extent becomes vulnerable though? Where he could he find a power source big enough to even remotely close the gap between him and beerus, whis and a God ssj? These aren't rhetorical questions ftr, I'm legitimately curious if anyone has ideas for that?
