Actually he IS accurate, to the manga at least. For him to be 100% accurate to the anime, his gi would have to be the same color as SDCC Namek Goku too. REALLY wish they'd make the anime their standard instead of the manga...

Thing is at least for Vegeta and Goku, they provided promo pics so I think they're ready for production at this point. Once promo pics are out, no changes are made. I'd prefer to have the hair match with the rest of the line with the shading and yellow like the originals but looking at how Vegito turned out and how the repaints and Goku look, I think they're going with this type of style of hair from now on. As for the boot tips, they're not detailed cuz this Vegeta is a straight up repaint, nothing more nothing less. He'll be exactly the same as the original just with a different paint app. Same I would assume goes for Trunks, although there's no official promo pics of him yet oddly.

My only gripe with that is, they can go through the trouble of making a brand-new belt & a brand-new face for this year's SDCC Exclusive, which clearly goes against the tradition of the SDCC EX always being strictly a repaint. But they couldn't bother to sculpt a couple of lines into Advanced Color Edition SSj Vegeta's boot tips? What's stopping them from including an extra face for Trunks or extra hands for Vegeta? Or making an "Advanced Color Edition ver. 2" of Trunks in his manga colors & decide to throw in an added accessory? They have already broken their own rules more than once, so these self-imposed restrictions and "advanced color editions" are equally as susceptible to being broken. They've set a precedent with MexiGoku [and even with Awakened Goku], so I'm sure we'll see more of these "unique" decisions being made in the future

It sucks cuz I would've really liked to see better things out of these repaints. For supposedly "advanced" they're really not. Honestly, the original figures look better with the shading and less glossiness. I personally would've liked to see this Vegeta come with detailed boot tips, crossed arms, and perhaps a few extra faces and/or hands. THAT would've been advanced, but you could also argue that it would've been a new figure, Cell Saga Vegeta. For some reason, they like to constrain themselves and are afraid to change their own policies so they have to be conservative and simply repaint and nothing more. I would rather they just not give us the cheaply painted inaccurate boot tips and just stuck with the old ones.

Yeah, that's most likely the reason why they continue to provide manga versions. They wanna milk us for all we're worth. We know you didn't want the manga ones, so here's a brand new exclusive anime version that costs more money and is rarer to get! It's a type of bait and switch tactic.

The more I see the Advanced Color Trunks and Vegeta, the less I like them. I just wish that they would have given Vegeta the same paint job the prototype had. THAT would have qualified for Advanced Color IMO.
I mean, I'm glad I'll be able to get a second (probably 3rd and 4th....) Trunks because the figure itself is awesome and still my favorite release so far (BD Goku might edge him out though just because he looks glorious), but the paint job on the Advanced Color Trunks leaves a lot to be desired. I thought they would make it more detailed and have better shading on the pants, hair and jacket. Instead the jacket and pants are just solid blue/purple and gray with absolutely no shading. The original actually has shading so I dunno how they can call these "Advanced Color" when it is clearly basic. I don't even want to discuss the greasy looking hair. ugh

I think "Advanced Color" was a bad name for these repaints. They should've chosen a name that was more suitable.

Act 4 is the standard tamashii stand and well worth it. You get three in a pack. 5 is a bit bulkier and for heavier figures.

I wonder what their explanation for the "Advance Color" is. They've done similar releases with unique names like this in the past like the recent re-release of Wargreymon (sp?) in the "Original Designer's Colors" which was basically a more shaded version of the original release and supposedly based on the "original design".

I have both and personally I like the Act 4 better. I think they look better, and you can tighten the screws to tighten the arms if necessary. I've never had a problem with them holding up figures, as long as you're not swinging them around. Don't know about heavier figures though. You can also add or remove the arm pieces to make it longer or shorter.

the name "Figuarts" itself is kinda odd so Advanced Color sounds pretty normal in comparison. they coulda made up an even more dumb-sounding name like "SSj Vegeta Advisionular Edition"

Thats not what im getting irritated at, its the fact that everyone seems to be complaining about the obvious prototypes as opposed to the official pics, at least in Vegetas case! His official release pics look far better than the shiny prototype.

Seriously guys, if you are going to scrutinize something, use the official pics
