I don't really mind that he made it in the time period he has it in now. It's just that the show is so toned down from DBZ and it's just lazy. DB might've been more humorous but it was actually good. The writing and plot so far are just plain lazy and not really that entertaining. The humor is just...not funny. The filler brings nothing to the story or characters. Practically every episode I've seen so far hasn't done a damn thing for me. I didn't have really high expectations but I didn't expect it to be so lackluster. There's still the stuff after RoF which could turn everything around but seeing how the show has been going, I doubt the new material is gonna be any good. Idk, I was just hoping it'd be at least a little interesting but it sucks so far if I'm being honest. I really hope I'm wrong and Toriyama's creativity returns and he blows us away. I'm not asking for super dramatic moments but I at least want it to be decent.

These retelling's and everything between is strictly Toei. This is their take in tying everything together leading up to the arc after ROF is done being retold.

I actually didn't know that and if it's true than Toei's screwing up big time imo. They need to get better writers because the story has no substance. While the BoG/RoF stuff is decent and I've gotten used to everything, hopefully the Universe 6 arc is better. I know Toriyama's got it in him to make an excellent story and the concepts presented so far are intriguing. It just seems the execution (of the anime at least) isn't quite right. Whoever's fault it is, I just hope it's corrected cuz honestly, personally, this new material is nothing to get too excited about. There's still plenty of story to be seen so hopefully there's some great stuff coming. I don't mind humor every now and then but at this point, it's detracting from the main plot.

I've actually been reading the manga chapters and it's actually pretty solid. The show just isn't doing a good job of translating it to animated form.

The writer/artist for the Super manga is named Toyotaro. He was originally doing the writing/art for the Dragon Ball Heroes manga, and he even did the 3 part manga chapters for ROF leading up to it's theatrical release in Japan early in the year. Now the Dragon Ball Heroes manga is on indefinite hold while he releases chapters for the Super companion manga that serves to further flesh out the story of the anime while it is airing. Shonen1234 made a reference to said manga a few pages back regarding the name change of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. The manga is now moving ahead showing what is to come after the retelling of ROF in the anime.

The manga certainly deviates quite a bit from the anime, and gives us some more information on certain events. Also, if i'm reading that right, the remanants of Friezas army are from a different universe, so does that mean that the Frieza that revived ISNT the same one Trunks killed, but rather the one from the timeline in which Goku got back in time to beat them? That would explain the differences in how he is treated in Hell at least. Maybe i'm reading into it a bit much, but it would be an interesting twist to find out that our Frieza hasnt been revived yet. Also, Champa is definitely the bad guy here, he seems much more evil than Beerus.

Oh, and I think Supreme Kai and Kibito being able to unfuse is a tease at Vegetto possibly being reborn to beat whatever we meet in the other universes, since we now know they can separate when its done.

@Big D interesting I guess... But I am with prodigy, if things don't get a more serours layer at the moments when it counts (which DB and DBZ BOTH had), this stuff won't mean much to me.

Super Saiyan Blue is only better cuz it's shorter but it still sounds stupid. Just like Sil said, Saiyan God and then Super Saiyan God would've worked sooo much better. Maybe this is all some massive troll by Toriyama and he's holding off on a better name for later on

The next Super Saiyan God color will probably be a full on orange. And I will love Toriyama for it.

That said yeah, Saiyan God -> Super Saiyan God would be so much better. Hell, considering the Super Saiyan God's hair looks like their regular and so on, it would be logical.
