You're not alone. The SSG form is LAZY DESIGN!!! I'm a little more forgiving towards the Super Saiyan Blue (SSGSS) form because AT LEAST they coupled it initially with a new gi for Goku and a new battle armor for Vegeta but quickly reverted back to their original outfits. SSG also suffers from being over-hyped as a "new form" and MASSIVELY DISAPPOINTED in the looks/design department (my opinion). This was one form where Toriyama but almost zero effort into...
It's honestly the biggest disappointment of the whole "new era" of Dragon Ball in my opinion. You had a chance to capitalize on a new form to design that could set the fandom on fire and instead they put something out that fizzled...
Why do fans still LOVE the SS4 design (despite the red fur/black hair..once again, my opinion...it should've been all gold)? Because it is a COOL design and a RAPID departure from the "norm" of the Super Saiyan forms. Even Bandai/Tamashii still issues A LOT of SS4 products (mostly Goku, but we've seen Vegeta, Broly, etc.)
Also, why the hell did his boot ropes turn red in this SSG form?

I also appreciated the fact that Goku achieved it only AFTER reverting from Golden Oozaru, so technically it's not a natural transformation at all. Begets achieved it by cheating (as always)

Your display is probably one my favorites I've seen. You do a very good job with action/fighting poses! I can never get my figures to look good battling each other, but you nailed it. Good job!

Thanks Yu Yu, I really appreciate it! These are definitely fun figures to pose, but for me they take forever to get just right. Usually when I rearrange one of my shelves it takes like 2-3 hours haha

my display has been dismantled, it's very generic these days. no more epic dioramas or battle scenes. been trying to think of some unique poses, so hopefully i can steal some ideas from yous guys (mainly for Cell. I've always been dissatisfied with the way he posed. he always looks awkward to me)

Thanks for the pics Yu Yu! I will admit, he looks slightly better in those pics but I still don't like how bulky he is aswell as the awful choice of gi color, seemingly just so they could advertise the aura effect again even though that's not his aura color in that form!

That's strange. Tamashii Nations usually has a page for the product on their calendar before it's up for pre-order. I figured this would be one of the few Goku releases that would be labeled as a Web Exclusive though.

Ssg Goku is a Web Exclusive? This isn't shocking and I think it's an accurate move for Tamashii. Some characters/ forms should get the exclusive treatment because lack of usage of them in the series or the popularity isn't just not quite there. I don't fully get why those two game characters became a regular release? And the more demanding should always be a rerelease.

He has the same musculature as the regular form, not slimmed like he should be. The faces and hairsculpt look decent enough but that gi color is inaccurate. Besides the gi and the body itself, he looks solid

I just wish they would've put more effort into this release. I actually like the ssg form, so I would've liked a fully accurate portrayal of it. If the first prototype had the updated torso and leg articulation and THAT was what they were releasing I'd be very excited for it. Now I'm just eagerly awaiting Shenron pics

That would definitely be a good option for SDCC, especially with the recent price hike of the original. The coloring did bother me a little bit on the original, so getting an accurately painted version would be pretty sweet.
I'm kind of hoping they go the 2015 route and Kaiohken Goku is the exclusive this year. I definitely want to pick him up but not for the current ebay prices he's going for. I promised myself that $150 would be my limit haha
