I'm on holiday at the minute and I've watched some clips from the buu saga (I've never actually seen it before) and one thing I wasn't keen on was how easy it seemed to be for Goten and Kid Trunks to achieve SSJ. Vegeta even said it was a "childs plaything" in one of the clips I saw. Thats just wrong

Also watched Mystic Gohan vs Buu and part of the Gogeta vs Buu fight and wasn't too impressed. I wasn't sure if my preconceptions were part of the reason I didn't enjoy it but a lot of the comments here seem to point to the saga just being poorly conceived. Is there a highpoint in the saga which is worth watching?

My prefference would be that the buu saga had long haired Goku, Majin Vegeta, Mystic Gohan, Long haired Gotenks and Vegito as characters in a state beyond super saiyin. Why couldn't they just leave it at that? Just don't even mention a ssj2 or 3. Just make it normal>ssj>unique. Done.

I think that'd been sooo much cooler. "This is my normal state. This is a Super saiyin. And this... is to go even beyond!"...

Aww man. I've been writing a long explanation and what direction I would have taken earlier this morning. I got back from my jog to finish it and saw this. Stop putting my words in such a perfect concise package, whereas I had repetitive rambles! You don't know how long I wrote my summation for the Buu saga and then cut it down. And you put it much more classy with "crazy end game". I absolutely agree with you. Same with Vegeta only being able to reach that level of super saiyan because of the magic. No matter how hard he trained he could never reach Goku or Gohan's level. He finally accepted it, but the cool thing about it, is that he'd become a far better strategist, because he wouldn't rely on his power.That's why it was even a bigger blow when Goku not only achieved that level of super saiyan, but surpassed it. I liked Goku achieving that power level in death and that's the only reason why that form was so unique. I'm glad that they made it so he could only hold the form for such little time, because his metabolism on earth couldn't keep up.

If I had to pick a scene that's it. It's not the best fight and I actually got bored like most Dragon Ball Z fights, but it's my favorite because of the emotion behind it. It's one of the reasons why it's my favorite saga. Hopefully Kai cuts it down, because all the fights were the perfect length so far with the edits. If it wasn't for Kai, I think the Goku vs Tien Fight in the 22nd tournament would be my favorite.

It seems to be easier for children to become super saiyans because they try to mimic their parents.... just like when gotenks was like let me transform to super saiyan 3... and bam he did it. Also goku junior and vegeta jr both transform really early. Always remember their power level is miniscule compared to gokus, vegetas and even gohans first time going super saiyan. As a kid gohan was stronger then vegeta and future trunks and even goku for a bit.


As for the transformations i agree with you guys they kind of just skipped over ssj 2.. I also wish other characters reached the super saiyan 2 and 3 form, but would just be weaker. like if vegeta actually reached it , it would be a lot weaker then gokus, also i didnt really like the mystic gohan idea, he was suppose to carry on goku's legacy... how can he do that when his limit is reached and locked in. saiyans should never have a limit of power.... Even though gohan does go super saiyan in the new movie, so we will have to wait and see.

Joke. Well to me the existence of some characters, like Videl, Adult Gohan, Trunks & Goten, Surpreme Kai and Dabura are cool. Or seeing 18 end up with Krillin. And I liked some parts of the Tournament saga. The two highs for me are Goku's scene where he goes SSJ3 obv, but especially Vegeta's epic moments when he's Majin Vegeta and what he does directly after that to which Piccolo says "I think I understand..." (Weren't there people asking to omit spoilers?). But all of that together is like... 10 episodes or something. So I tend to look at it as the series ended for me when Gohan defeated Cell and the rest is bonus stuff.

I'm not trying to nag, but where is it hinted apart from him having the electricity if I recall? It's barely shown Goku has attained SSJ2.

Honestly, I wish they'd just ommited Goku's ssj2 and called his ssj 3 mode his specific version of ssj2.

Gohan is young but his hair kinda is a bit long in ssj2 mode. That's his ssj2, Goku's ssj3 should've been his ssj2 imo, because Goku is adult, more experienced and his ssj2 would've just been stronger and unique to his insane power.

Then Goku vs Vegeta would've just been them as SSJ's and at the top of their game. And SSj2 Gohan and "ssj3 Goku" would be the only two with a level above ssj.

I'd have preferred that... Especially because it seems cool to me that if you ascend a ssj, you'd get unique traits to that post-ssj level (like Goku's long hair).
