I think I finally made myself a sigpic I'm gonna stick with.XD

Mario bros, massive 'meh' from me. Not gonna be buying any of that. The shade of yellow was stupid though, doesn't match the games' at all. That's not an obscure hint, that's not a hint at all. But oh well, wasn't expecting much so not let down either. Kid Goku would've been way better though.:p

A nintendo collab is a good thing, even if they are starting with a character that will naturally be hindered articulation-wise, but that paves the way for Link, Samus, etc in figure form that will actually be better than figma. Looks like I may have another figuarts series to follow :lol

Mario? Not exactly what I was hoping for, but I'm not too disappointed either :)
But I would only get Mario if they make King Kuppa and Luigi too.

His articulation doesn't have to be hindered, (I understand his round belly could be an issue, but look at how they did Mega Man and Zero, similar joints can be used on Mario)
Remember my fat Buu mockup, Buu has less going for him than Mario in terms of potential range of motion, and I still made that work. I'm sure that a figuarts Mario would meet our articulation expectations just fine :)

Oh my god Mario figuarts? Wow, never expected that.:horror Surprising since Figma already did a few Nintendo characters and has Nendoriods of Toon Link and Luigi, but then again the D-Arts line has covered Pokemon...this is awesome though! Finally, real poseable figures of the Mario cast.

Exactly what I was thinking!

Oh you guys are actually happy about it? Then I'm happy for you! Does he have a story to his character? I'm not into Nintendo, but I think Link has a story to him. I only played the black and white gameboy and gameboy color games. Then again people get Pokemon, and I thought all they do is just repeat their names or something. What is the appeal?

man my smash bros set up would be one step closer. I got link snake, pikachu, samus, pokemon trainer (with charizard ,squirtle, missing an ivysaur in scale), sonic, mewtwo, lucario is the next darts pokemon being made, figma marth(new one) being made, and now Mario!!!!

any gamer will most likely have a spot for Mario! The story isn't what made the character, it was the super fun games. Link has a way better story imo. Mario is repetitive but fun. I really recommend for you to watch POKEMON ORIGINS on youtube. its 4 episode based on the first games before the anime was ever made.

That's true it's combinable with FIGMA. I just am not exactly happy if they start making the same figures as mafex or figma, kinda pointless imo.

I'm also inclined to say I'm not too pleased with how many new lines they're introducing, seems hard to believe it won't come at the expense of db/z releases, but oh well, don't know how that works over there.

Also, Bane, you NEVER played any mario games!? I thought you said you grew up in the nineties.:lol Or are you from a country where nintendo never really got big?

In any case this means no news for DBZ in a while I think... Or does anybody dare expect protos at the Nuremberg fair?

What's so bad about the Nintendo Figmas? Besides the scale and minimal accessories.

Also I love how Tamashii announced this on my birthday:clap

Nooo don't watch origins, buy a gameboy or download an emulator and actually play fire red and/or Leaf Green!:lol And then HeartGold and/or SoulSilver. "Then, you have my permission to watch origins.":lol

Lol, I remember when the nintendo 64 hit and mario became 3D and suddenly I couldn't do frig with it haha, I suck at 3D console playing.

Oh hey congrats FSLAR!

Figma are Ok, but figuarts always destroy them, thats why I would love a figuarts link, even though I have a figma version, I just know for a fact the figuarts version will be superior.

I also dont think this means no dbz news; if years before are to go by we dont see dbz figure news until end of Feb so no worries there.

Thanks for the recommendation. I never got into Pokemon, but would buy the toys, cards, and try to keep up with the show because it was the fad at the time. If you weren't into it, you're out on friends. I was like Kyle in the South Park parody of it. "In the real world, I can either get a Chinpokomon, or be the only kid without one, which singles me out, and causes the other kids to make fun of me and kick my ***."

The reason I was asking about story or character, because I don't understand why you'd want a figure of the avatar, when the gameplay is the main attraction. I understand for characters from story heavier games like the Metal Gear Solid Franchise or Mass Effect, because you grow attached to the characters through their dialogue, character interactions, and back stories.

Games tell stories as well or even better than movies or TV series do, since you are controlling that characters every move and decision, you become attached to them (at least IMO) much more than you would a film character.

Meh, yeah... I'm kinda halfway at your position Bane, as I never cared that much for mario in a personal way. But I do have a bunch of friends who do, I think it's mostly just being attached to the characters purely because all of the time you spent with them and the memories etc, even I have that with Mario, just a staple in my childhood. And from what I know the Zelda games do have good stories (I never owned those games, I only had donkey kong and mario). Nintendo characters probably were a lot of 90s kids best friends.:lol

Also, I never played the pokemon games originally either Bane.:) I simply can't stand to stare at those small screens. But I did love the anime tremendously and it was great fun to play them later on and relive that whole thing, that's why I recommend it if you like pokemon and have some down time to kill. The Origins anime was kind of a let down to me. Way too short and rushed, don't get why it wasn't 8 to 10 episodes.

And yeah you're probably right about the news Big D. Also I think the amount fo time you put into a game is often so massive, you can't but help get attached to it if it has any emotional resonance. I mean, two game characters in my sig right there haha.

Personally I'd rather see Figuarts or Figma StarFox instead of Mario. There really are no representations for the StarFox series out there.

@ Silrian I said I played the black and and white, referring to the original gameboy and gameboy color games. I actually played them on my little brother's gameboy, who was a few years younger than me. I had friends and cousins that had the SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Nintendo DS and Wii. Everytime I tried playing the games after those original gameboy games, I thought they were boring. They all seem the exact same. Same with sports games. I had friends who would buy the new game each year, and I thought they were all boring, because I felt like I already played them on the Sega. They just have better graphics and some tweeks.

I never liked turn based RPGs. I'm not going to take turns and let someone hit me! It just don't feel right MAN!
