S.H.FiguArts Dragonball Z figures!!!

LOTR is a great comparison. I actually bought a bunch of the Toy Biz figures. I really liked Arwen and Eowyn, but since I spent so much money and with limited space, I had to stick with the Fellowship, and the main bad guys. If there was a female a part of the Fellowship or Z fighters they would be top wanted figures. I bought multiple DC Superheroine's because of that. Starfire and Raven were my favorite Titans, both females.

Honestly I feel Arwen only takes a role in Return of the King, in Two Towers she really didn't do much. Eowyn became kind of generic, having a nice introduction and action sequence but then became a love interest waiting for a protagonist and nothing more.

Also thinking of buying Frieza soon from my Barnes and Nobles after I find some coupons, does he come with a Tamashii Act 4 Stand?

He doesn't come with a regular stand but he has that piece of rock and feet that fit into it.

Since they only release 3 figures a year, then I say Bulma, Videl and Buu for 2015!! Only problem with Bulma is which version they should make of her.

Although tbh she might have more of a chance if Tamashii were to produce a Dragon Ball line, which would be awesome. Chibi Goku Bulma and Yamcha as first releases, then perhaps King Piccolo, Krillin, etc.

@FLSAR I haven't watched the movies in over 10 years, so I don't remember! I liked the books better, because they were mostly action movies, and missed out on a lot of what I liked about it. Not Peter Jackson's fault, it just wouldn't translate to film, and would make it way too long. I gave all my LOTR stuff away anyways.

@crisis I think you would first need an anchor for those characters, for even people that want them. Like a Kid Goku for Bulma or a Gohan for Videl. I think Silrian had a great idea in thinking about iconic scenes to see what characters will be made. Videl may have some within the Boo arc, but not an overall series iconic scene, so I'd count her out completely. Her father would have a better chance being a main character in the Boo arc. Maybe if there's another poll, you might want to use that as an opportunity to voice your opinion. That's why I voted for Kid Goku on the SDCC poll.

Well you guys talk about the films, but, in the books Arwen barely has a role (Glorfindel has her glory moment in Fellowship) and Eowyn does less as well. Granted the books are quite different, but I think most changes served the story/films.

In any case DBZ just has clearly defined major players who changed over the course of quite a long manga/series. You can't get around to much more than main characters, it's just not doable for them I think. Not with the state of DBZ's popularity in Japan (apparently).

Honestly I'm surprised we're getting these at all, I'd never expected that 4 or 5 years ago. I know we all tend to give Krec9 slack for him saying DBZ is dead, but, honestly, it's not that truly alive. It's a resurgence which is great, but it'll never be what it was back in the day. Not even with some new material. I don't think it'll truly die anytime soon, but it'll never be the true main focus of a company anymore I think, not like I don't know, hot toys is such a marvel vvhore. That time has passed.

So, yeah, I respect all the completists and quantity collectors, but... I'm honestly already just thankful I got my faves. Anything more is near a miracle given the circumstances. We ghave a whole lin up of the main characters already, some in different versions even. That is nothing to complain about.

As soon as they release Kid Buu and a bunch of Buu era characters, (and a few more zero's and maybe some other stuff) I will not at all be surprised if the line dies after that. And we'll just see rereleases. New things will come for them to focus on. Keep your expectations low is all I'm saying, makes it all the better if it turns out better.

Hmm, I dont know how to take the new manga tbh; it mentions ssg so it automatically becomes canon, but at the same time it basically changes everything we knew about Gokus history, and makes the first Bardock movie non canon by having Bardock with Gine instead of his squad. Also, the part about him being 3 contradicts the very first scene of dragonball! He certainly wasnt 3 there. Vegeta was also on Friezas ship when he blew up the planet, not away off in space, I dunno....

It still doesn't make the Bardock ova non-canon since he might have gone to visit his fallen comrades after he visited Gine.

Regarding him being 3 still makes sense since Saiyans age slowly thus making him appear like an infant even at 3.

Small correction about Vegeta. HE was shown to be off on some planet with Nappa when he hears the news of his homeplanet being destroyed IIRC

A Bardock Figuarts would be pretty cool and feasable. He's popular enough that he would sell a decent amount of units, at least as much as Goku for obvious reasons.

In all honesty, blame Toriyama for not making any female character a lead fighter. We as fans can't really help it that there's essentially only one decently powered female in the whole franchise, which we'll have this summer.

I think you're right, and for something so old, you don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. I think just the main Boo characters could carry them for a couple years easy, and be done. I think Kid Boo, Mystic Gohan, Vegito, Gotenks, Majin Vegeta, Post Time Chamber Trunks, and maybe finish with Broly? I'm sure there will be some retooled SDCC Goku. It's still going for at least couple years, and that's a long time in my opinion. Whenever I start giving lists of who I want and what should be done, it's just for fun. Otherwise, I could just check a figure news site, but I think these conversations add a bit of fun vs. just hoarding plastic!

I'd love a Bardock! I liked Pan in the Japanese sub, but hated her in the GT Funimation dub. She was cute in the DBZ dub! I thought she had a sweet relationship with her Granpa. Well only when he was SSJ4. I thought they made Goku stupid as a kid. As soon as he dropped that telephone booth, I was upset! He was smarter when he was an actual kid, and matured and became more responsible as the series went by.

Have you forgotton how long it's taking them to release Normal Goku? I'm willing to bet that we might see a Vegito prototype at this year's SDCC, but we won't actually get him until Fall 2018. They just love taking their time with this license.

I also find it odd that SSj3 Goku was released years ago, but with no accompanying Buu Arc characters. Same with Normal Goku; the release schedule for certain saga-specific characters is all over the place. And there's still the possibility that Nappa and/or Shenron might see a release sometime in the future. So who knows how long it'll actually take for us to get a complete set of DBZ Figuarts (imagine 10 years from now, we're still posting on this message board, eagerly awaiting Tapion or Raditz' release when they first showed their protos at SDCC 2020. LOL)

Goku is literally the only time that happened; the androids were only shown last year (not counting that crap first 18 proto), every other figure has also been released no more than a year after their final prototype was shown.

I think they've done an awesome job with character choices and hit the right marks. With Goku people complained that there were too many and complained that they should focus on minor characters, then they complained that Goku wasn't released, then they complained that it's not the version they want. Tamashii can't win with fans. I just want them to take their time and make the best product possible. I would really like to see all the prototypes they have, but fans would complain if they didn't get them, even though it happens all the time in businesses.

Figuarts I know who the next two TENTATIVE figures are in addition to the SDCC exclusive and as much as I'd love to share with you guys I can't unfortunately so I just ask that you guys respect that. There's also some new ZeroArts in the works so this line is definitely still going strong. Just be patient as there are some large gaps in between figures. But you guys already know that.

Now that I'm a Bluefin rep and I have some influence, I'm going to try my best to represent you guys and have your voices heard. Remember, I'm as big a fan as you and would love to see all the different figures made.

As for the 2 tentative figures, we already know which characters are in the pool of "extremely likely" due to popularity and the fact that "Saiyans sell," so it'd be interesting to see which one of us guesses right. As for Figuarts Zero, my guess is a super-charged Perfect Cell maybe in the Kamehameha pose, and perhaps Broly (although I hope not, there's already enough Broly statues on the market. A super-detailed appropriately sized articulated Broly is what we need!)
