You guys have no idea, always talking like if it was only because of US costumers this line is still alive, this is just a little taste of reality for all of you i guess. DBZ is a HUGE thing in Mexico since always, and like Mexico many other countries, but here specially there is an insane amount of people who have always liked and demanded for DBZ stuff. Hell, people pay about $300 ish for figures like Cell, SDCC Vegeta and above $400 for SS3 Goku, SS Vegeta, Trunks etc. every Pre order ALWAYS ends up weeks before the release, so im glad Tamashii ended up giving us a limited and exclusive release this time.

a lot whiny children in here .

i'm not worried, i'm sure i'll acquire it. i'm not gonna let this slip away like i did SDCC super saiyan goku :lecture

well if in the back has the Kaio Sama´s symbol.... would be better and i really F#"$ my mind.... but only have the Roshi symbol..... sdcc goku (normal and why not with head ssj... ^^)must have that symbol. they could make it for everyone and not to mexico! ^^ it´s the most fair! ^^

If they're not doing simple repaints anymore then there's TWO things they need to do; 1.) produce/release a larger quantity at the event and 2.) Tamashii release a Manga version of that figure within the next year. Otherwise it's a big "**** YOU!" to all of us collectors. Especially those who have been supporting the line for a long time. I understand they have to keep the event exclusive as an "exclusive," and I don't mind that, but if it's a completely new release, all of the other collectors deserve an opportunity to obtain it even if we're not given the anime and the extra face.

I'd say option 2 is the most likely option. This not only gets international fans angry but domestic (Japan) fans as well. They're bound to release some version of this one way or another that is not an exclusive, whether it be with different kanji or manga colored. I doubt this is gonna be the ONLY normal Goku with a kanji and a belt. We will get a wider release, I have no doubt about it.

Well, we are definitely lucky here. I know it's insanely popular other places, and there's a reason why so many other countries got dubs before us. I hope you have no problems getting yours! Hopefully you get it for a good price because that's insane if you were paying that. I wouldn't pay that much for a toy no matter how much I liked the character! My friends already think it's nuts that I pay over $10 for a figure!

@Krec9 Yes, they did! As much as I love the Japanese original, I love having the Kai blu rays because it's nice to be able to watch the show without reading subtitles. Plus the pacing is much more adult friendly!

Which is what's really throwing me off and has me hoping that Tamashii has something planned for their web exclusive line.

1) The US never had a NEW release, just 3 repaints of releases all of which are available and even being rereleased. This is a new mould, for the ****ing main character's second most iconic look (if you wanna put ssj on 1). **** that.
2) I'm not from the ****ing US. I'm from europe, we don't even have a ****ing distributer here (or not often I think ssj goku is the only one officially released in europe), let alone exclusives.
3) This isn't about countries. You can have whatever repaint you want for all I care. SDCC exclusives aren't made because america is priveleged, they get made because SDCC is biggest most well known convention in the world. If this was the sdcc exclusive I would've not liked it either, because these main character versions shouldn't even be web exclusives, let alone event exclusives. The thing is, with sdcc exclusives at least I have experience in getting hold of one and the audience going to it is HUGE. There's sellers familiar where you can buy them. Though Vegeta sold out ****ing crazy last time too so even that would be unasured. This as an sdcc exclusive would've been bad too. But with mexico I have no flippin idea what the deal is and this was my nr 1 desired figure and validly so, as its the freakin main character's look. Toriyama even reverted to the symbols for BoG.
4) The aftermarket is in a **** state as it is for fan favorite characters. Tamashii should NOT make that any worse. This sets a terrible and nonsensical precedent. Even just business-wise this is dumb.

(How's that Ang? Am I beginning to live up to expectations?)

but the only new things on the figure are the belt and whatever the new face is...if you look closely enough you'll see it's still the same old torso (which is why it isn't worth fretting over this release, a belt that small will expose the gap between the torso and waist anytime the torso is moved, which heavily limits the articulation).

It's not the same torso the mould around the sash is different and it's a matter of release. I don't collect or want customs, I want official versions. And no this isn't the same as having to wait instead of buying a custom because if they release this now they're not gonna do it again. I don't see any hope for that. It's just plain simple BS, I don't care how (un)important it is. You don't make a staple look of THE main char an event exclusive, whether it's sdcc mexico or ****ing lithuania. I really can't believe they're doing this, IF they're doing this.

And because I can't believe it, I'm honestly still expecting this will be the SDCC exclusive too. Not that that's what I wanted in the grand scheme of things but selling it at two events is at least better than one.

I really don't think this is gonna be the only early Goku we get. Remember that the colors on this figure are anime accurate. Exclusives up till now have all been repaints to anime accuracy. Honestly, I'm expecting an official announcement for the manga version of this any day now, the sole reason being that it's so iconic and that the home market of Japan would be placated by a manga version. Most likely it wouldn't come with the special Mexican packaging and bonus face but at least it will get its wide release. Tamashii's stupid but they're not THAT stupid.

I mean if you're talking in terms of the darker plastic used and the kanji on the shirt then yeah, it's a new torso, but you mentioned the mold. This is still the exact same mold used on every other Goku figure. worth a quote...

I made the following image to confirm if this "new" Goku has the colors of the manga or anime:

Orange_zpsh3i8spix.jpg

The bottom of the gi, which looks different, is misleading. That's how every torso looks underneath the obi. With the smaller belt more detail is visible.

I think by new mold, he meant new outfit (technically character). The actual figure itself is exactly the same as the normal one except for the coloring and the belt. This figure does count as a new figure though, since it's not just a repaint but a new representation of the character.

Who are these costumers? What kind of costumes do they make? Costumes for the stage and screen? Or costumes for people who misinterperate our annoyance as xenophobia? This doesn't have anything to do with Mexico or 'Murica. It has to do with exclusivity. SDCC releases are at least available online afterwards (at a small mark-up), so if this doesn't follow the same suit then I call bull****. But as Sil said, even an SDCC release for Namek Goku is no bueno. To release such a popular character to such a small customer base is asinine.
