You can account the MCU for that. In my (cough, cough ) years of collecting, I've never seen an era where so many companies tackling the superhero franchises in around the same scale, 1/ 12 or 6- 7 " usually we have seen the usual suspects Toy biz, Hasbro and Kenner and it was like this for years, decades.
Now I'm seeing every company including Bandai jumping on the bandwagon, now I'm seeing companies like Comcave studios emerge out of nowhere, producing figures
I might add I think Hasbro is being threatened by this, that's why the ML line has really evolved within the last year. I remember the first line of ML by Hasbro, these figures where nowhere near the level of sculpting and accuracy as the lines in 2016.
Now don't get me wrong Figuarts and Tamashi nations still have cornered the market for one of the best superhero 1/12 companies, but looks like a lot of companies are stepping up to plate to compete including Hasbro
