Since the genesis battle droid will likely be my "Default" soldier type one, what variation do you think i should paint the regular version which i just ordered (horrible timing...) Personally i always liked the security ones, and the pilots (sorta)

As a side note, am i the only one who thinks the cg for the battle droids still looks good today? Even the clone troopers look pretty good. In motion maybe not so much but thats more to do with compositing, the rendering to me still looks great. imo for cgi, the simpler, the more realistic they are

The clones are okay when their faces are covered up, but I think the effects are showing their age there. I agree with you on the battle droids, though. They're simple enough, and nonorganic, so the CG still looks good.

If I were going to repaint, I'd probably go with the basic infantry (since there were so many if them in the movie) or the security (because I think the red and tan combo looks the best out of all the color schemes).

I know, I said this previously, but let me deepen; IMO, SHF works much better as a separate line, aside of the rest of 1/12. I think SHF deserves its own focus. Every SHF figure is a little piece of art and high engineering.
Even the non-chromed, undersized Phasma is awesome itself. Also, SHF has a very peculiar scale and proportions, and a very defined idiosyncrasy.
On the other hand, I consider that The Black Series, Bandai and Mafex work really well together. Where one of them lacks, the other adds. The can be mixed much more easily, all them are in very equal scales and proportions.
Hey, this is just my opinion. Please don't consider this as an offense to someone and his collecting habits.
Peace.

Nonsense.....joking. You have a point....they are distinct. Easily the most desirable figures....but I'm more than happy with seeing other make brands full the gaps whilst they exist...especially R2, boba, Vader, etc

I understand what you mean. Lets enjoy this good age for Star Wars collectors. I'm really doing it.

Let me show you what I've just finished 20 min ago...

Nice work! What'd you use for the weathering/tarnish? Also, did you have to mod the figure to get it to pose naturally? The other times I've seen the model, it looks super lanky and not all that great.

Until someone posts a pic like this where its apparent they only made a couple and the droids have the same scuff marks over and over.

I've watched TPM more times than I probably should have, considering I don't really like it all that much :lol There are some in the end sequence, when Anakin crashes into the droid ship.

Yellow droid and yellow clone are my two biggest wants, The yellow on a geonosis droid would look really good as well, may just do my own as well

Vallejo inks and dry brush. Not so special, I just had to lose the fear to soil that shiny armor. [emoji16]

Agreed, those look nice. I'd rather paint the regular droid than pay the premium those droids will likely be, as exclusives, though. Also the red on the SHF security droid is a little dull, and although it looks completely accurate to the screen cap i posted i think it would look nice if the red was just a little more vibrant

EDIT: it may be just the pic, heres a pic of the pilot droid, which i honestly have no idea why they're making because they're barely in the movies (easy repaint i guess), and it looks a bit more colourful than the pic posted above

Also this got me thinking, i know in AOTC we see the yellow and red clones, but i seriously don't remember the blue and green ones. Any screen caps out there?
