Cool pic, figuarts hold their own. Hasbro looks cheap as usual - look at those terrible Kylo elbow joints.

Why do you bash Hasbro so much?

The Hasbro joints are actually more hidden than the figuarts one and when BS Ren is on the shelf the joints are well hidden with certain poses.

Get some comparison pics if you can . Because I've been reading these unboxed figures are bootlegs

Chances aww they are, since theres 2 sellers at least selling multiples of them. They did wrote its authentic, but how can you get so many loose authentic figures :lol

Sure hope not, cause I just bought one. I have an original w/box also, and will likewise post pics when the new one arrives.

Please do, curious to see how the comparison is. I think its the ones that didn't pass the QC that made their way to the HK secondary market. When I was visiting HK, Kato told me that one of the building in Mongkok sells bootleg or factory reject figures.

I just did a quick and dirty photoshop on the figuarts Kylo hood. Like someone else mentioned that is all that stands in the way of this figure being a homerun. Untitled-1.jpg

I'm hoping the hood is a soft vinyl material rather than corse and can be shaped or at least fuzzed Like how you photoshopped it my friend:clap nice work

Here's hoping

I think the Figuart is better than Hasbro's. The Hasbro's Kylo has that glop of rubber around his neck, overly long soft goods, horrible looking lightsaber and I don't like the elbow joints either.

Thanks guyver. I hope it's not too late for SHF to make such a change. It is such a subtle tweak, but it makes a world of difference.

They don't usually tweak any more, unlike HT which do, occasionally.

:exactly:

That's why it comes down to the material on the hood, if it's the soft squishable plastic or rubber that is used with PAK parts then it is possible to futzed it to screen accuracy but if it's that hard vinyl molded plastic like the mistake Hasbro's did on the hood where it completely restricts head swivel from what I saw on the reviews then it would be a shame.:lecture

Sorry for the delayed response I was at work. The loose Luke I purchased on eBay if it is a bootleg it's the best bootleg I've ever seen. You can tell that this figure and the one that I opened were manufactured at the same factory. Even the gold paint that is inside the head when you split it apart are done with the same strokes. This figure has tight squeaky joints and I'm even going to order a 2nd for my brother.

Why are you defending that kylo figure so much? It's terrible and like almost everything BS these days a sloppy missed oppertunity. The cloth and noncloth stick out like a sore thumb. The cloth isn't accurate, it's laughably too long and the cut in the middle should start at the belt. The hood is crap thin material that also looks like a 3.75" figure (and far from the best ones). The saber is a catastrophe that I'd find ugly even for a 3'75" figure (in fact, the 3'75" looks better). And the articulation is way lesser than SHF (we're not even taking into account that SHF will come with multiple hands that actually fit like a natural grip). I'm also pretty convinced shf's mask will look a lot better in person than hasbro's. They already do on photo. On top of all of this, you can simply see the cheapness of the figure's materials and applications. With a lot of modding, maybe Kylo could be salvaged to be okay for a 20$ figure, but than you still have that saber that looks as cheap as something from a carnaval prize stand.

You're completely free to voice your opinion, but don't be surprised if many people disagree. I don't know how you look at figures, but your opinion confounds me.

Hasbro does not do well with black plastic. Instead of nice matte finishes where they should be, their black plastic is always oily looking and way too reflective; it hides sculpt details amongst other things.

And I don't need to go into what else is lacking on the BS6 figure, it's been covered.

You can't argue taste, but the Hasbro is inherently lesser quality and it shows. No surprise given price point.

Yeah Hasbro quality is terrible. I had literally every Black Series figure up to the IG-88 wave. It was more of a completionist thing than love of the figures. There have been maybe 5 or 6 good black series figures out of the 30+ they've made. Too much cloth, terrible paint, gummy plastic and things like the abomination that is BS Darth Vader and the upcoming farmboy Luke turned me away finally. I just came to accept that they are more premium kid's toys meant for playing with than collector items that look good on a shelf.

Yeah TBS Kylo is ok for the price. They should've kept the double jointed elbows like previous TBS figures for the same price point.

Sorry but...

Hasbro **** the bed with the TFA BS (not that they haven't already done that with previous characters).

Why on God's green earth would you do away with elbow swivel?

Why ins't Kylo Ren's hood molded?

Why would you make his cloak/tunic so long - that it hinders you from actually being able to stand him up?

At least the new packaging is pretty cool - oh wait, they ruined that too by giving them stupid poses inside, causing the accessories to warp.

Hasbro.
