Yeah Hasbro quality is terrible. I had literally every Black Series figure up to the IG-88 wave. It was more of a completionist thing than love of the figures. There have been maybe 5 or 6 good black series figures out of the 30+ they've made. Too much cloth, terrible paint, gummy plastic and things like the abomination that is BS Darth Vader and the upcoming farmboy Luke turned me away finally. I just came to accept that they are more premium kid's toys meant for playing with than collector items that look good on a shelf.

Sounds like a familiar story! X-Wing Luke, Boba, Greedo, Bossk and Cody are the only decent ones. I may go back and buy them again in the future, but right now it's just Figuarrs for me.

Sorry but...

Hasbro **** the bed with the TFA BS (not that they haven't already done that with previous characters).

Why on God's green earth would you do away with elbow swivel?

Why ins't Kylo Ren's hood molded?

Why would you make his cloak/tunic so long - that it hinders you from actually being able to stand him up?

At least the new packaging is pretty cool - oh wait, they ruined that too by giving them stupid poses inside, causing the accessories to warp.

Hasbro.

Yeah. Seems like they put more into their marvel legends line than the Black Series. Granted, legends are pretty bad overall and suffer from similar issues (except the dumb cloth goods). Just look at their movie ant man figure. Terrible, but there are many more decent legends than there are black series.

That's why I appreciate SHF more with each new release because they seem to cater to the adult collector.
I just hope Disney doesn't extend those international restrictions to SHF and Tamashi Nations.

This isn't happening. This issue is between Revell, Disney, and Bandai over the model kits. It has to do with distribution rights and contracts. There's more info on some of the model kit forums, and Revell released a statement. Basically it boils down to Bandai breaching their model kit contract and selling outside of Japan, which they weren't supposed to do, just like Revell can't sell outside the U.S. These restrictions are exclusive to the model kit contracts.

Isn't it the same with figures? Bandai can't sell their SHF and Tamashi Nations SW line outside the U.S. Couldn't Hasbro do the same and pressure Disney to extend those restrictions to figures too?

I hope you're right.

No, apparently the issue is only over the Bandai model contracts and its effect on Revell.

Nevermind... no point in debating this figure on here, some are to stuck up to accept a $20 figure.

The disney Bandai does effect this line. It's not just models. Bandai was told not to sell ANYTHING SW outside of Japan. They were also told to enforce this with retailers. Go to hlj page. They put up some info. Also they have an order stop on these. They are pulled from other Japanese sites as well. They are only listed on Japan only site. Not US/Japan like 1999 Cp
Sorry but this line will only continue in Japan. And on secondary market at inflated prices.

Poor excuse, most people here will agree NECA is awesome, those are figures of the same price range and niche as Hasbro, and they're levels above Hasbro.

There is no defending Hasbro, it's not a matter of being a snob, it's a matter of Hasbro making objectively ****** figures that aren't even worth $20 and giving excuses about not being able to meet the rest of the market's standards because of le budget.

Nevermind... no point in debating when my arguments don't hold up.

Fixed!:wave

@Gasper even 100% regardless of budget, how hard is it to produce a fabric the right length? Seriously. The **** hasbro greenlights for the black series is ridiculous, and I collected that line. Go back to old posts in the black series thread, you'll see me liking those figures. Then wave 3 came and then figuarts came. BS got ****tier and SHF came holding the magnifying glass. I will buy a BS figure sporadically if they're armoured or aliens and they happen to be good. But clothed/human characters at black series suck, even for that scale and price. They greenlit the dumbest ****ing ****. How do you nail a stormtrooper that well and **** up vader that badly!?

Granted, if this whole licensing thing is gonna go worst-case scenario WWEjedi will have the last laugh, because I can tell you after market prices for SHF can easily go sideshow/hot toys range prices.

Just hope they can manage to squeeze out Obi-wan before it's too late.:panic:

I think it is just ignorance to expect a $20 figure to be as good as a $95 figure. No one here seems to understand that these are $20 figures, by Hasbro, and still ***** about them, despite them matching the other overpriced 6" SW figures on the market.

The line is not even bad and gets way to much hate.

Why are you such a Hasbro fanboy? I am far from the only person on this forum that "bashes" Hasbro. In fact, since my last post there has been a number of people posting messages just as critical of what Hasbro has done to the Black Series as I have. It is a fact that Hasbro figures are not worth the retail price and they are not the same quality as figuarts, NECA, McFarlane, etc.

Why do you bash Hasbro so much?

The Hasbro joints are actually more hidden than the figuarts one and when BS Ren is on the shelf the joints are well hidden with certain poses.

I am already laughing at you. :wink1:

No, my arguments do hold, no point in derailing this thread meant for discussing overpriced imported rubber caped figures. $85 for a 6" battle droid? You reealllly think Hasbro, for $20, would not be better? Only thing Hasbro could never match is that TPM Kenobi, It makes all BS figures look bad.

Not a fact, just your opinion.

LOL. No **** they are not the same "quality" as Figuarts, remember those being four times the price..... they still look good though.

McFarlane figures, like the Walking Dead, to me, are not that great compared to the Black Series.

NECA I hate, especially that *** of an owner. There 3 3/4 figures are garbage that Hasbro blows out of the water. 6" Gears figures break easily. Never bought anything from that company since. 1/4 line looks great though.

It reads "Order Stop" because they're sold out of that item, if you've ever ordered from them you'd know that. I have Star Wars figures on preorder with Amiami, HLJ and CD Japan, and all orders are fine. I want to see someone show me definitive proof that this import sales issue includes SH Figuarts. I'll wait.....

I see both sides of the argument. When TBS line first came out, everyone was praising Hasbro for catering to collectors, etc. It was like the next best thing since sliced bread. Then SHF, Kaiyodo, etc came along and showed what we've been missing in 6" figures. They spoiled us and some won't settle for less. I'm just glad we have options out there, that is until Disney and Hasbro decides to restrict SHF SW to Japan only.

$95 figure? Now that's exaggerating. SHF are $35-40, it's the intl shipping or ordering from U.S. stores that bumps that price up quite a bit.

Anyways, let's all take a deep breath and enjoy the hobby we love. It seems pointless to argue and blow a gasket on the internet over toys. Internet arguments or debates never end with one side admitting defeat, it just keeps lingering over and over...........:panic:

$95 is not exaggerating. Look at the prices from BBTS, this is the point of my whole thing against these.... the price.

If you could actually get that TPM Kenobi or ROTJ Luke for $50 shipped, know there will be a deep character variation, and know that issues with distribution of this line would be cleared up, I would have no problem in switching over to these.

You can get them for that price at the Japanese websites mentioned here. I'm not sure if you are charged extra by your postal service however. Kylo was 40 and the shipping is in the $10 range for SAL economy shipping
