So did the PR fan base not support this movie or are there not as many PR fans as I thought there were?

Or was the box office carried by the fans and the normies not show up.

The movie certainly wasn't bad real shame especially since the origin story is now out of the way although admittedly they went 10-15 minutes too long with the build up, those 10-15 minutes would've been better served being used for getting them into their suits earlier.

But i'm sure 10-15 minutes of more action would've been super expensive when compared to scenes of the yellow ranger talking about her sexuality preferences.

Get out!

lol

Yeah well the studios know very well how create content that targets groups of people.

Get Out / Straight Outta Compton success is no more surprising for me than lets say American Sniper / Lone Survivor.

Both were created to bring in their respected target audience.

Now PR that is a neutral movie (even though Saban is a super conservative) that just didn't connect with the general audience like all of these dumb animated movies making a ton of money.

They made it too different than the source, it looked too serious for fans but it looked too weird for normies

It was different sure, but I can't see them doing it a different way. But in the end, it didn't work. I think it was doomed to fail from the beginning.

I thought kids would have saved this movie but the movie looked too adult ( young adult ) for kids to watch.

But young adults and milkenials wouldnt watch it because they remember how silly the show was.

This movie had no real audience. It got stuck in audience limbo.

It made 134.8 million in total. Only 30% more than the budget... I doubt Saban would commit to a sequel. Unless the Blu Rays sell. Who knows what they sold in toys. I imagine a lot. The toys sell no matter what.

Funny how on RT it's still got BVS and Sewer Squid beat.

EDIT: It actually premieres in China on the 12th and in the summer in Japan, so that might save it.

All they needed was to have a street racing scene with near-nude women waiving flags (see Fast and Furious) and this movie would have made tons. At least get Vin Diesel to play Zedd in next one. lol It baffles me how the FAF franchise does so well with minimal storytelling and bland dialogue.

Mid-June release for digital and late June for Blu.

Guys, I hate to say it, but I don't see us getting a sequel.

It needed roughly $200 just to break even, and even though it's yet to open in a few bigger markets, it's only at $150M (ish) at the moment. Even if it does hit that $200M in theaters, I don't see Blu sales being strong enough to justify a sequel financially.

Of course, I would love to see it, but I'm thankful we at least got this.

Hold the line. :monkey2

But seriously, that sucks. I really would've loved seeing a sequel to this with the Rangers being more "experienced" and facing off against Zedd & the Green Ranger. I'll definitely be getting the Blu-Ray of this tho.

If there is nothing more infuriating is a movie that teases a sequel and has a cliffhanger moment or a bait for a sequel and then it flops

And a dumb movie like Get Out is somehow in the top five films of the year... ugh.

While I didn't love Get Out the last thing I would call it is dumb. It's a great debut for a new director and for 4 million bucks it impressed the hell out of me.

Anyways yea it sucks this film didn't get the recognition it deserved because it was actually a really good movie (Talking about PR)

Sometimes it's okay. :lol

Although I really would've liked to see that GL sequel with the yellow lantern...

I thought this reboot had a lot going for it. If a sequel doesn't see the light of day, I will be dissapointed. I guess the audience just isn't big enough for this. Maybe the audience that grew up with PR has just moved on.
