1st appearance wolverine and sabretooth wouldve been cool for the original releases.

Modern brown suit Wolverine and Lee style sabretooth wouldve worked better this time around

These things are no longer 'fine art collectibles' as much as they are action figures now

Rulk, I think you're letting your emotions get the best of you. Statues are Statues, action figures are action figures. These are still sculptures that have an insane amount of detail, and let's call this what it really is, it's a variant. It's a different paint job with minor sculpt tweeks like that do on every variant statue. It's not a reissue, because it's not exactly the same, just like the Sinestro GL suit variant.

Ok just to clarify

It is a valid assumption to make that this rehashed Sabretooth statue is gonna compliment the new Brown suit Wolverine PF

Just so we are on the same page - 1st appearance Sabretooth didnt pair off with 80s Wolverine

By the time Wolverine updated his costume - Sabretooth had his more recent previously released attire.

These 'variants' are lazy rehashes so im calling them what they are

Okay, but I also see the side of it that some people may like parts of the original PF's or even nearly everything about them but would rather have that character in a different costume or even just fully sculpted and this is a way for Sideshow to put out those statues and satisfy those customer's without having to take their limited resources(sculptors/painters) away from other projects that are brand new and never been done before, this way they can work on more projects and still get statues out to those that want different/variant versions of characters they've already done.

You don't have to like it, hell even i was a little "WTF" about the Sabretooth, but I also want to see the full reveal. I never got the original and I want to see how this one will look.

Sorry my mistake

Brown suit wolverine did pair off with classic sabretooth

My biggest issue is the fact they couldnt muster up ONE sculpt of Magneto in 8 years yet we get two Sabretooths both of which are near identical sculpts.

Someone hand their marketing department a raise.

Easy pass bought this 5 years ago

I get that, and honestly as much as I would like to get a Sabretooth for my collection, at $480 for Wolverine and probably $500 for Sabretooth, haha, yeah let's just say I'm waiting til the end of SDCC to see how it all shakes out before I go POing things.

In Uncanny X-men #213 they had an awesome fight. It has one of my favorite covers, but my stupid phone won't let me post the pic.

This Sabretooth looks good so far! I understand it could be a variant (most likely is), but I'll wait for the full reveal to decide on it.

The last PF should of never had fabric on it in the first place it looked ridiculous. I think this is a bad move on Sideshow's part, they're going to tank the collectibility of their own market.

I don't get all the hate for this being a repaint/variant. They already had a body sculpt, they did add more sculpting to it, and there is demand for a classic (and nonmixed media) version of the character. It is what it is.

Sideshow is a company that is there to make a profit and Wolverine/Sabretooth are both A list characters. I am tempted to preorder the Classic Sabretooth simply because I didn't like the pajamas on the modern Sabretooth (sold him many years ago).

At least Sideshow doesn't pump out multiple repaints all the time like the Deadpool X-Force version. If they start pumping out "repaint/variants" of every former statue, then we can bust out the torches and pitchforks.

Well for people like me who weren't around when the original PF came out, this is awesome news. I'm so happy its fully sculpted. Definite buy for me if comes out good.

I don't get people trying to compare old prices (when first released) to the cost this will be now? It still has to be priced at current market prices. I just don't like how they seem to be steadily pumping everything up in $10 increases. When is it enough for them? That's not about market increase. That's just trying to push as far as they can go.

As for the statue I can't wait to see it. Another one on my hit list to come out!!

Ive wanted that original sabertooth, but could not pull the trigger on it because of the fabric. I got a feeling Ill like this one fully sculpted. But at the price points now and knowing this is easily a $350 statue it would have been two years ago, it'd be a hard pill to swallow.

Never stopped people from collecting Bowens, won't stop people from collecting these. You can say price will matter, and it will, to some, but not to everyone.

So what do we think? Sabertooth at $490? That would be such a d-i-c-k move I can't see SSC doing it. I suppose he will be $480 as well.

There ya go, one of my favorite X-men cover's as well
Uncanny_X-Men_Vol_1_213_Direct.jpg
Yep, this is my favorite comic book cover of all time, and may have been an influence for the Wolvie sculpt, but unfortunately the PF sculpt ain't matching what Alan Davis did. "Classic" Sabretooth is actually much more appropriate for brown than yellow Wolvie, since the bulk of the time Wolvie was in the brown suit (entire decade of the 1980s basically), this is what Sabretooth looked like, particularly around the time of the Mutant Massacre, Inferno, etc.
