I'm impressed that the inside sleeves seem to be fabric. To cut costs, Sideshow tends to sculpt that sort of thing, like they did with the GtG PF. The only bit of the costume on this one that seems to be sculpted are the boots. Bravo!

Yea, it matters. Most of the time the EX costs more(regulars cheaper from LCS), so we expect something better than the regular. Don't get all high and mighty. Added value down the road is just a bonus and the EX is a good a hedge against losing money should, like many statues do also, drop in value under retail.

I would be mad at SS if they went with their original plan and made the Palantir Ex only. As I said before, if you are getting the Ex anyway you get both options so it doesn't matter.

How could I take a statement like that out of context, you said you think most guys here care more about how much the statues are worth then the actual statue?

An EX should be something you want to display, not just a cheap prize thrown in as a afterthought. After all they want to you to buy direct so they make the most money, it is in their best interest to make a good EX. An EX part just for the sake of an EX part is crap, who cares what it is if it sits in the box forever. EX does not stand for extra. Plenty of EXs are just different color paint or something like that.

I like both hands on this one, so I don't mind the nicer option hand is not the EX. It does not have to be "significantly better" than the regular, but at least as good IMO.

Why would you be mad if they made the Palantir the EX, you just want a good deal on the regular so you don't have to pay more for the EX?

I don't want a vital part of a statue to be limited to a small portion of a release, meaning a large amount of collectors settle for second-best. I feel that's a slap in the face. The Palantir is vital to Saruman and should be included.

I don't care about making a 'good deal', I would have bought the regular anyway, palantir or not. Humor me and compare this to the Comic Superman PF Ex and Reg. The Reg sculpt is the iconic look and the Ex is a cool extra.
That's how it should be IMO.

That's like saying the Batman PF reg should've come with the batarang for the reg and the EX should've been his normal hand lmfao. EX should always be a something better than the reg, otherwise why even have an EX. It also adds to the over a value of this COLLECTIBLE. And IMO it does make it less desirable to me. To me this would've been an EX or Fail but now its not. Its still an amazing statue and the EX isn't so bad as its just amazing overall but I still wish they had made the Palantir the EX

I'm not going to continue this. You lost me at the batarang is not needed for Batman. Same goes that the Palantir is not needed for Saruman. And EX should ALWAYS be the Better version. Otherwise there would be no need for and EXCLUSIVE.

New Gandalf PF? I think the probability for that happening is close to zero. We have two Gandalf PF's already anyway. IMO IF Sideshow decides to do another PF it should be a character not handled before.

Does anyone know if Sideshow released a polystone statue for Saruman previously? I started collected the Lord of the Rings Polystone statues about a year ago, and have collected Gimli, Legolas, Arwen, Frodo & Sam, Gandalf, Strider and the Witch King, but never came across Saruman.
I'm just thinking if I should get this premium format of him or wait to see if Polystone is released.

That makes no sense. Why not just buy one of the other Gandalfs out already? Why do you need a "new" one when the GTG is great and GTW is cheap. Only chance of another one is if they do a Hobbit version or a better GTW, in either case it is unlikely. We will get a LSF before another PF I think.

SS is not making the smaller stuff anymore, WETA is your only option for that now.
