If it's 3ft including the base the body could easily fit inside a box the size of the DR (which admittedly is a massive box) with the head and base a separate add on.

A bit like the DR box. Two separate layers of foam.

This is my guess 2 layers of foam and the statue in 4 parts - base, body, left arm with mace and head.

But the box, dear god the box :thud:. Where will I store it??

Will it be at SDCC again?

I would bet that it is...would generate more sales too I think...I bet the box will be way bigger than the DROM...The base is massive compared to DROM too...Saurons body is huge too in comparison to DROM..If Saurons midsection and legs are connected and are one piece this will dwarf the DROM box IMHO.....remember it's not just 36 inches tall but 18 x 12 inches wide too( big base)

You know, I was almost wondering if his torso would be in separate pieces too. I was thinking like how the Wolverine LSF was in two main body pieces.

I could pretty much guarantee too, that some of the skulls and weapons on the base will be separate too.

agreed.....

I can also pretty much guarantee his head will be separate too, and we know at least the arm with the mace will have a separate piece somewhere, whether it's part of the actual arm, or just the lower half of the weapon.

Either way no matter what it will be a tremendous box...Look at the LSF Grim Reaper too...They will charge IMHO at least 40 to 50 to ship this easily IMHO

Definitely. Dark Rider was around $40-45 for shipping to me, so I'm sure Sauron will be more.

I'm excited, I'm probably going to pre-order him today.

You will never regret it...I've never been so excited about a piece like this one...

Well, he would be, by far, the most massive imposing piece in my whole collection.

I do love the fact that that he is as big, and probably more detailed, than all of the LSF's and way cheaper.

Even though it has ES of 1500 this will sell out IMHO...if 300 to 400 2K LSFs get sold out easily than this Uber $900 statue will too...maybe in 2013:lecture...Just wait for those new 2013 SDCC photos and in hand pics come in...If I won the lottery I will build a black brick house with black cement and put a dozen of these and DROM around the house no matter what my wife says!

I would love to put him as a background in one of those fake fireplaces...would look so cool...with this orange paint lighting placement will be key here in regards to displaying him best IMHO

I keep looking at this picture. I love him from this angle, and I'm just floored by his size compared to the guy in the pic.

He's huge. The guy in the pic is Jerry Vanderstelt who is the creator of the painting being held.

I can't criticise the quality of the art but I can't stand the pose.
Still I will order this, I imagine the Gollum PF next to it... :horror
