You're 'Sorry' to hear that Weta will be doing statues? I'm not, i'm ecstatic!

I know what you mean, but you can count on Weta to do alot of statues, and listen to what the fans want.

I'm glad you know me well enough by now to know that I didn't mean it in a bad way.

I am very happy that Weta are going to be producing 1/6 statues again and with the improvement they have shown with their "The Hobbit" line, I'm really looking forward to seeing and getting what they make for us. But I am also very sad to think that SS will no longer be making any more LOTR pieces in this line. I love what SS have produced and am sorry they will, more than likely, not be continuing this line for much longer.

I just wanted to confirm what you though was correct, FE and I'm glad that you understood what I really meant.

As usual with a Sideshow Middle-Earth line, there's plenty of unfulfilled potential. I was careful not to get into the maquettes as i had an inkling Sideshow wouldn't finish it as we'd like, and i think i made the right choice as my collection would look strange with the few characters they made, and not others.
Plus i already had many of the characters from the SSW days. Hopefully Weta will 'fill the gap' that was left after the SSW partnership ended, and it sounds like that's their aim - then maybe they'll go back and do newer sculpts of older characters. According to the Weta Collectors book, that was their intention back in the SSW days anyway.

oh they've changed it back.. for a while there before SDCC it only showed 3 or 4 payments now its back to 8. They mustve changed it back now that the new paint has been added... Time to seriously consider this one

I am glad to see they changed it for those who want to spread it out like that. I would jump as they are just as likely to change it back once we get closer to the release.

Done! I finally pulled the trigger and ordered with the extended flex pay open again. I always liked him but was hesitant of the price and the orange. Sdcc made me feel better but it had the 3 flex option only. Now they extended it again...I'm in! Feels good cuz iv been staring at the order button daily for a month.

Awesome! I'm glad it's back up to 8. I put off ordering the last time and missed it. I figured we'd see it back to 8 at some point so I didn't sweat it. I'm definitely gonna finally order him next week.

Yeah, no doubt. I think 500 or 750 max would have been perfect. A 1500 ES on a $900.00 statue is crazy. It's just as bad as the 9500 ES on the SSW Sauron back in the day.

I don't think it was that bad plus the SSW Sauron was tons cheaper

It wasn't good for helping it reach "grail" status but it probably helped make it more affordable. It's large ES was also good for making sure that no collector had to miss out on such an important character and that's the most important thing.

The ES Was a direct result of how hot the market was then for The Lord of the Rings back then. So many statues were selling for more than retail you had people buying multiples to flip to pay for things. Which helped cause the ES to get to 9500 for this and 8500 for the ML statue. Not long after the market started to dip hard for everything so the plans of people didn't work out so much.

It could. I kind of doubt it though. I expect it will ship in September sometime. My last FP is September 26 and that's kind if when I expect him.
