They did say earlier this week that no new pre-orders would go up until Friday. So maybe this big fella's the one.

not so sure about this as they previewed some items as Spooktacular 'teases' such as Deadpool which we know will be going up next week but Sauron as a Spooktacular 'sneak peek'. Not sure if there's a difference but i guess we'll see.

the reaper is an lsf. Sauron does not qualify as an lsf, just like the galactus maquette. Neytiri was a legacy production which are always overpriced

Painted glow thing seems to be the in-thing lately. Look at the Vader Mythos maquette. Between this and that, we'll know soon enough how well SS' factories can reproduce this "painted glow thing" effect.

Here's to hoping they don't botch it big time, or that glow thing will be of pitchforks and torches heading to Sideshow's HQ!

The good thing is that Sauron is open ES and the Mythos line don't have exclusives and a fairly large ES so you can most likely wait for in-hand pics for both and decide then.

I hate waiting, Im very impatient when it comes to things I want. So I just order and ask questions later lol

Worst case, if I really don't like the QC once in hand...I send it back for a refund.

I prefer making my own judgment on a piece, not using others in hand photos.

I would to but I do expect the production to come out very close to this one. Its going to be a major draw for any The Lord of the Rings collection.

Sorry.. Not liking the orange tint on the armour. If there is a orange tint, it should be the reflection of LIGHT to the armour not a gimmick paint application to try to mimic light. I see another Ultron fiasco again.

You got great eyes for detail. Maybe it's a shorten version as shown on the statue.

Yeah, noticed it at comic-con. Depending on the shot the actual costume varied but this is one change I would like to see.

I will agree 100% on that...I just wonder if they either forgot it or worse ..they thought it did not look good because it had orange paint to reflect the base?...hmmm...painted mail?..

That's why there should not be orange paint if ssc thought to remove the chain mesh because it didn't look good painted on.

Maybe JV just took liberties and made his mail longer for the painting?...I dont see the longer mail on my SSW or SS Dio

I like the rustic metal look on the Weta statue, though the shorter mesh looks like he is wearing a mini skirt.

even the toy biz action figure I believe he has the shorter mesh...In the film in the very beginning when Sauron forged the ring scene inside Mt Doom his mail was longer version...at the battle I'm not so sure

This statue in every way is based off the art. So where the heck did the chainmail go?

They got every other little detail in there. They also (for a reason I don't understand) put the sword behind Sauron instead of in the skeletons chest as shown in the art. I'm not trying to sound super picky....but come on. Just asking for a little accuracy here.
