The long mesh was in the film at ring forge and short mesh was at battle holding mace(I think?)

I will agree 100% on that...I just wonder if they either forgot it or worse ..they thought it did not look good because it had orange paint to reflect the base?...hmmm...painted mail?..

I think they just opted to go with one particular view.

This statue in every way is based off the art. So where the heck did the chainmail go?

They got every other little detail in there. They also (for a reason I don't understand) put the sword behind Sauron instead of in the skeletons chest as shown in the art. I'm not trying to sound super picky....but come on. Just asking for a little accuracy here.

Chris

Don't sweat small changes like that.:1-1: You'll enjoy it more if you do.

I believe that's correct

If I could buy that one, I would in second!

Pics make it look really good. But the base still isn't doing it for me.

Chris
what really that's to bad. I love the base it think it's one of there best very cool and the
detail......well that's my opinion :clap:clap:clap

The SSW Sauron Statue was made by the people that did the movie and it also has a short skirt. :monkey3

I like the rustic metal look on the Weta statue, though the shorter mesh looks like he is wearing a mini skirt.:wink1:

Hey, it's spring in Mordor and a fella likes to feel pretty. What's the point of climbing the hundreds of thousands of stairs to the top of Barad-dur every day if you don't get to show off your gams once in a while?

I was lucky enough to see the traveling LOTR museum exhibit in Boston back in '04 and they had that costume on display. Stunning. Absolutely stunning in person. :thud:

Weta also designed a sword for Sauron but it never ended up being used in the movies. They had it on display with the costume at the exhibit. Huge and horrible beast of a thing. Just like his mace. I wish Sideshow had included the sword as a switch-out option.

Also, I love the "you're next" pose of the exhibit costume. It reminds me of something, but I just can't put my finger on it ...

I did notice too that the chainmail loin cloth was short, and I did mention it to SS to lengthen it, but I didn't get everything I wanted seemingly :)

Also, the angle of the shoulder spikes looks wrong. With SS figure they seem to form almost a 90 degree angle with the upper arm. They should point up more, like 150-160 degrees.

And why is Sauron who is this upper class Lord with kick ass, super fly, expensive, hand crafted armor sporting some crotchety ripped robes that look like he stole them from some homeless Orc. You'd think he could afford some high end imported exotic silk robes. :huh :slap

Cause he's a hipster... duh! :lol
