Re: Savage Opress

I agree. it was too bad they had to cancel the series just when it was about to be getting better and better.

I was actually really bummed out when they decided to cancel.
Last season was just awesome.
Really looking forward towards a full reveal on this one for sure.
Can you imagine the size it would have to be?
In the show he was rather large compared to Maul.
Really has the potential to be really incredible if done right.

Re: Savage Opress

it's funny how the show went from good to great as soon as this guy made his entrance....

Re: Savage Opress

I am still wondering what people see in those the clone wars charcters. The whole series was just mediocre at best. Poorly written (although what else can you expect from a series if single episode is just 20 mins long), with boring characters.

SW fans wanting more really had nothing else to feed on other than this series.
Realizing the fanbase is a huge cash cow, and the need for more story in the franchise, Disney will fulfill your needs with an Ep.VII.

Re: Savage Opress

Still wish that the storyline focused on him without Maul. It was interesting to see what he was going to do on his own having been strong enough to break his spell. And considering he wasn't an evil character, and seemed to be breaking through that role of Frankenstein's monster, it would have been nice if he had had found some sort of salvation or redemption. But once Maul showed up, he kind of become the quiet henchman again.

Do you think he would have joined the rebels?

Re: Savage Opress

Don't agree that this show was poor.

Captain Rex, Asokha, Savage Opress, Cad Bane, Fives, Waxer, Bolt, The Son, Mother Tolzin, Asajj Ventress, etc. were great characters.

Anakin, Mace Windu, Plo Koon, Dooku, Sidious were all done better than their live-action counterparts imo.

There were clearly boring episodes, but mediocre at best is false when at best this show had amazing lightsaber fights and nice character development. And it did justice to some characters that the Prequel Trilogy completely missed.

I mean come on the Umbara arc with the clones alone deserves to break the "mediocre" label.

I think he still would have been manipulated by Talzin, but as far as story goes I think he would have had a sort of tragic death where he would die not on the side of good or as a rebel but clearly not evil either. Considering what he was turned into after being a brave, courageous warrior who defended his brother, I felt like his death should have been more important. And meaningful.

Regardless, he quickly was becoming a beast of a fighter and force user. In an alternate timeline I'd love to see him at full potential. He held his own against just about everybody at one point, even Sidious for a moment.

Re: Savage Opress

I thought the clone wars was amazing, near enough each story felt like a mini film. LOVED IT and Loved savage, probably more than maul. I just hope he turns out similarly to his clone wars and not whats in the OP.

Still looking forward to the final and last 6th series :(

I have to agree. Maul was one of those characters where the more mysterious he was the better it was for his character. We are introduced to Savage in quite the opposite fashion with some vulnerablities exposed and layers of his character already out there in the open. He had very endearing qualities.

I also agree that I wish in this case they stuck a bit more to the animated appearance. Something about his jawline, eyes, cheekbones add to the "monster" look whereas the realistic approach to the PF loses some of the feral aggressive look.

You also have to add that we've seen him 'only' as an animated character so we naturally favor him in this appearance more. We have no real-life counterpart to make comparisons, but it seems Sideshow is going to try here with there PF.

Re: Savage Opress

same happened with Asajj Ventress and the nailed it !

Very true. That definitely explains why I'm partial to it.

Re: Savage Opress

Unlike her animated counterpart, the regular sculpt for Asajj is beautiful. I remember taking a bunch of pics when I first got her.
Beautiful profile and face, but accurate to the Clone Wars version she is not:

But let me ask you this, Asajj Ventress was popular in comics and books before the older Clone Wars cartoon right? Or did she premiere in that format?

Correct, comics first.
I like the way she looks in Star Wars: Obsession (comics).
I'm not really digging the way she looks in the Clone Wars Micro series (animation).

So true.
Can you really imagine how big it will be when properly scaled to Maul in the animated series.
He gotta be as big as Malgus if not taller.

Re: Savage Opress

clone wars was a great series. I don't understand some of these OT only guys around the forums. there's so much more to SW then just the OT. I dunno it just seems like such a narrow minded view of something that is and should be expansive and epic. oppress is a fantastic character.

ekhm, asokha? no thank you.... Bleh, she and skywalker... I stopped watchign the series after 3rd season. All the time I was hoping she will die in one of the episodes. But nopes! 4 seasons and she just says goodbye to the jedi order, because they didn't trust her "oh noahhh! How can you not trust your snips, huh? I am outta here!" Not to mention that the episode it happened in was just utter garbage. It's the stupidest thing on earth when you tell the viewer the real story and then just feed him with bunch of poorly executed images.

Yeah, sure I do like to moan, but TCW, even with all the enthusiasm I can muster was just so poor. All the senator action, poor plot...
It's not like the show didn't have good moments. Each season had just enough of them to make super exciting trailers. LANDING AT POINT RAIN was absolutely my favourite of all episodes, but even this one could have been done in slightly better way. It took off nicely, but kind of sucked at the end.
