Well as it says in the NECA POTA thread...

They have the license for both the Classic films and the modern films and "are planning to do a lot with them. A fave since childhood."

Sounds like they will be committed to the line. I'm hoping for 1/6, but who knows. Good news none the less!

It's great to hear that there is a really commitment on the part of NECA to go deep with the line. So often their lines run fairly shallow. Just hope sales will be enough to continue the line. We've all been down this road before.

And we might get 1/4 Apes of some of the major characters... since the company seems to have an emphasis on that particular scale.

I wonder why SS chose Zauis for their first PF 1/4 line instead of a Gorilla Soldier or General Ursus. I think their choice truly effected the line. I know PZ you are ecstatic with their choice but must admit it was too early to bring the good doctor out first.

I totally agree. If they started with a gorilla PF on horseback, much like their Ringwraith and Steed PF, we might have seen more pieces from the line.

They also chose to render Dr. Zaius without his classic robes opting for his Forbidden Zone riding gear. That decision didn't help either.

However, they did have another waiting in the wings... a Taylor PF but they did not secure the Heston likeness rights. Mat Falls stated that the prototype was 100% completed too. I wonder if any pictures will ever surface of him.

Someone has to have some. It would be nice to see, though Taylor would not have been a first [or second] choice for me if they were looking to get fans to bite on the PF's. I'm a 1:6 collector and would need a good reason, or a great piece, to get me to move to PF items.

If they did a Taylor I wonder what version or scene they were aiming for, Astro, Slave or ending scene when he is on his knees with a chunk of Lady Liberty nearby?

I still have my PF Zauis SS gave me for the Fan Favorite FIGURE IT OUT video. I never opened it to even look at it. :monkey2 It is now sitting in my garage awaiting the day I find room for it.

The guy running that auction is either suffering from SEVERE delusions or is legally blind.

And it looks like the good general is sporting quite the overbite. :horror:horror:horror

Why do people ALWAYS confuse General Ursus with General Urko? :dunno:dunno:dunno

And yeah that price is on the steeper side of any fraction. I'd be really surprised if he gets that price for it.

I know I know. Thats the way the M&C ones came.

That 8" is only overpriced if no one buys. I wouldn't go over $60, tops.

What? I don't care how many people buy it It is ridiculously over priced and no where near a Hot Toys comparison.

I agree, but I've seen some crazy prices achieved for worse product. I find it amusing that the seller uses a Hot Toys reference in an attempt to sell a figure in a scale the Hot Toys doesn't work in. Most Mego fans would balk at HT's prices and detail. They seem for the most part to want stuff that is more like what Mego made. Resemblences without extraordinary detail.

Thats a fantastic collection!

You have so many apes, including a load of the HT versions.

Isn't it a shame they didn't continue with that line. :(
