Yeah, I'd like to know; I wanted to place an order with Alterego, but the shipping came up $33 for 3 figures (and I live in a neighboring state !). I sent an inquiry to Marc, but haven't heard back.
Also, Ursus and the Gorilla Captain are showing as "In Stock", but the gorilla Soldier says "Pre-order"; an e-mail I got from them indicated everything was in stock?

The shipping comes up to about $33 in the shopping cart... because, I believe, the check out program assumes they will be shipped separately. However, when you ask to get the figures bundled together in one shipment, the shipping fee goes WAY down.

And yeah, I did order from Alter Ego.

My wife informs me that she authorized payment for my trio from Viking's Playground. I opught to have them in no more than a week!Happy birthday to me(3 weeks late).
Also, looking over the reply from Hot Toys, it does not say specifically that there will be no more Apes. It says that they can't confirm whether the'll do more; essentially, a non-answer(gotta love the business mentality).
And the next Watchmen figure is the Comedian, for those that haven't heard..PS

Gorillas make great belated birthday gifts. Trust me... my gorillas are MY belated birthday gift as well. And my birthday was way back in April. :naughty

And yeah... the Hot Toys answer is a non-answer... the same non-answer Sideshow gave before they threw in the towel. :banghead:banghead:banghead

Both Silk Spectre II and the Comedian were on display on SDCC this year. Silk looks STUNNING in person. The Comedian, well... they need to do something with those pearl whites. :horror:horror:horror

Ironman - I like make ape related things for people when I feel inspired to do so. When this does happen I have to have the time available. Both of these projects had strict deadlines because I’m about to get busy with my own projects once again. I plan on devoting my time, to my projects.

I don’t make these things for folks year round anytime that they want them. Making “repeats” of items that I’ve already made is as not very exciting or inspirational. This is just the way it is; I’m sorry you don’t approve. I guess I could be some of those other artists who take your money now and delivery your items many years later. I don’t do that. I commit a span of time for you, my customers if you’re interested in an getting item.

It has nothing to do with my approval old friend.
W.G. & Dr. Zaius - There won't be any custom tripod cameras being made. You were the only guys interested in obtaining this item. Sorry.
Not true. These were NOT the only guys interested.

I won't be making a mold of the longhaired male chimp, which a couple of you had requested. No one committed to this project by the proposed date.
Not a proposed date. A strict cut off.

I understand that you don't want to help the folks out year round. But you make it sound like no one wants what you're offering when, in fact, its often you that are cutting yourself short.

I bought four and they are charging me over $26.00 to ship them! That comes out to $6.50 plus per item. I wonder why they are charging me a little extra? I know that this does not even compare to what Jess was charges, but it does compare a little higher than what Proto was charged. I may have to call them.

Too bad for the camera ! But I understand your reasons Angel. No problemo ! If you change you're mind, don't forget us !:D

Dumb question, but I haven't been on the boards in a while - any way to see pics of all you guys' POTA collections without sifting through 15,000 posts? Is there an albums page or somesuch?

There's nothing further from the truth Ironman. You need to stop evaluating all that I do and simply take me up on an offer when it’s offered to you. I offered all the people here various heads on countless occasions. I actually have silicone molds for about six different gorilla heads. I made these molds thinking people would buy the resin sculpts, but they don't. The apes aren't as popular as you all might think. Especially when it comes to customized heads. Why should I continue to flush my own money down the toilet by making even more molds?

I’ll say this as a fact. People are just awful for saying they want something and never committing to it. I’ve learned from the past and I can’t make anything until I see the money up front nowadays.

Watch this Ironman.

Jessica, please tell us how many of your custom apes heads you actually sold? I’m betting on three, four at the most. The only reason I’m even guessing that high is because I know I bought two of them.

I have had many ape fans write me over the years saying how I should make “this and that” and how they believed there was market for these items. Sadly, they are all very wrong.

No one is jumping on the bandwagon for any kind of custom-made item. Clearly, I can see that people really don't want custom ape heads. If they did, I would have sold more than 1-3 heads from each silicone mold created.

The greater part of the ape fans really is after the actual figures that are made by the big toy companies. Snickertown and I never understood this. Nearly everyone on this thread says they don't have the money for a custom head or a custom item, yet they spend BIG money on figures from Sideshow and Hot Toys. They always seem to find a way to get those things. Weird huh? I just want something unique in my collection, not something that every Joe has.

Excuse my ramblings; I’m going stop here. I’ve explained this all in the past and it just seems to go over everyone’s head. If you don’t get it, then you don’t get it.

BTW – I just spend $28 to have an (unpainted) resin sculpt of Alex Krycek (X-Files) send to my home. Why? Because I believe that’s a very fair price for a resin head sculpt. I can’t unload the apes for a measly $15 each. The apes aren’t as popular as some might think.

Thanks for understanding W.G.

Perhaps someday others may want them. (If I made just one for you alone it would cost you about $50. That's crazy.) I like to offer my assistance from time to time. I'm surprised that people don't ever get together and talk to one another about obtaining certain things.

i.e. "I like Angels FILL IN THE BLANK. Is anyone else interested in this item? Maybe, if we get enough people together he'll quote us and actually make these for us."

Hey Angel! What do you think that I have been doing for you? I allways post comments about your customs! I don't make that much money, but I still have allways paid and own many of your Gorilla sculpts. I agree, a person should not even make a comment about you making anything, if they don't have a promise of payment. You will be very surprised at how many custom items that I have bought from you. I get a little irritated that some people bring up things, but never have the money. I was out of work for over a year and still bought from you. Please do not group me in with the people that never follow up on wanting things, but never seem to have the money to pay for them. Keep up the good work and remember, that without your customs, I probably would not be a continued Apes collector!:monkey3

Look what I came across, guys! Now you can bake your own realistic looking breads in clay and not have to buy them! And it looks like FUN!!

https://www.garieinternational.com.sg/clay/miniature_cake.htm

I also learned that when you sculpt, you can use a mirror to see how off your sculpt is by looking at its reflection!! I was wondering why I could see somethings in a photo I could not while looking at the sculpt...and a mirror is quicker than taking a photo, uploading and viewing it. Very cool trick!!

Where has the day gone? I’ve been a busy bee this morning with several small projects. I’m about to go pick up some paint, a gallon of Bondo and a small drill bit. It’s such a nice day that I’m going to work outside with the stinking vapors of the Bondo.

This morning I already made five ape clubs and six ape whistles, along with those Conquest armbands for KFog and Dr. Zaius. I still have to tie the string on the whistles and the clubs. The armbands will be completely finished tonight.

Time for me to fly, I’ll check back later…

Listen guys, I had a couple members write me last night about the cameras. If W.G. is still interested in a apes camera/tripod. We've got 4 cameras sold. These guys are looking for just one more person who might want one. Can you be the one to help them?

Angel, I have interest in all the ape heads I have sculpted...but I need to make the time to paint them too. At this point, I'm not happy with Carsia's paint. She is the only ape I have kind of done, but not really happy with the paint job I won't offer her for sale. I have to be happy or she won't get sent out.

If I get 4 or 5 done, they'll get bought...I just have not had the time to make them...and now I have to start thinking about the gorilla costumes.

But you are right. Nobody's beating down our doors to get the apes sculpted and cast. Why do I do it? Because I love apes and I really want someday to get enough apes made to fill up a stadium shot, even if it's Mego scale. It has to be Mego scale because I don't have space for 1/6 scale.

Jessica,

Of the ape heads that you made silicone molds for, how many ape heads have you sold? I'm really curious.

Here's what I've been up to today. I made 2 extra armbands in the event I screwed any of them up for KFog or Dr. Zaius. I think they all came out very good. Should anyone want any of the extras they are easy on the pocket at $4 each. You can have it on your Caesar within the week.

First come first served. Shoot me a PM if you want 1 or 2. After they're gone, they're gone. :horror

Jess, forgive my forgetfulness, which heads do you have molds made for? Could you post pix or email them to me please.
Thank you.

Hey! Those are the "2 bananas" that I bought! :lol

Does everyone actually "see" now? No one really wants these custom ape sculpts. They only want the actual 12" figures from Sideshow and Hot Toys. :naughty

True dat!! It's because nobody wants to put the finances and time together for a customized figure. They all want instant gratification, something that Hot Toys and Sideshow will provide.

IM--I know you're in a bind now. Take care of your family first...the same with you Kfog. Take care of business first before fun.
