Even though I JUST said I don't want to be tempted by anymore good Hot Toys apes...IF they do do more....how about...
stuff we never got from Sideshow?

Since the first 3 figure were all in some way Beneath related, how about a Beneath Forbidden zone version of Zaius? With his extra glyphed out tunic and his curly little beard?

Maybe Ape-o-nauts finally? I can see Hot Toys doing a great astronaut outfit.

And since the Gorilla captain also harkens to the TV show, why not re-use a lot of their existing sculpts to give us an Urko (with unique Urko head sculpt) and a TV version of Counselor Zaius?

The guy behind the counter at Amok Time who sold me my HT gorilla seemed to feel like there'll be more. He said he heard that they sold very well overall.

I don't know how many more I can afford though. Unless I get a good job or a lot more gift cards, I'll have to keep my Hot Toys collection small.

True, the figures have sold out at most US vendors and they are scarce to find for a cheaper price on EBay. It looks like HT had a hit with the Gorillas and it would be nice to see them continue on with some more core characters. I only have the SS Astronaut Taylor, but it would be nice to see HT come out with a better sculpt of Heston. I'm sure you'll be able to afford these, HT releases their licenses slow and steady (unless they lose interest in a line).

I have no doubt HT Ape-o-nauts would rock, but I fear that the price on those would be higher. Just due to the intricacy of the outit, done right.

Someone had already pieced an Urko together from the other HT apes. A simple redo of parts and a new sculpt would be an easily done new release.
TV Zaius would be most welcome, as would Burke & Virdon!!

I'd like to see what they could do with a removeable mask mutant, there were 6 main ones seen in the film afterall. And yes, chimps, Cornelius, Zira, Milo and Lucius.
Caesar, Aldo, Virgil and Huston's Lawgiver. These are all "main" players neglected by Sideshow's original run. And, over time, could do well for HT.

It's quite fugly at the moment. It totally swelled up and was a totally different color. It didn't swell evenly either. I don't know if that's because I didn't mix the chemicals for 45 seconds like the directions said.

I am letting it shrink down now because it's way huge and non-proportional...and see how it is when I come back from the slavemines.

This was how it looked after just a few hours in water. If this doesn't work, I'm going back to square one. HIs face now is smoother, not convoluted like the photo. This is just weird.

I know that Alex Lopez, a very talented sculptor, said that he would sculpt Heston. I know his sculpt would totally capture Heston...so I'm not really gunning for any humans from Hot Toys.

You're right, Sticks. I AM having fun. I love to experiment. I'll try one more time before calling it quits. I wonder how Burke is looking now? He still looked very out of whack this morning--still very disproportionate. I ended up cutting off his neck just so I could see the head against the body for sizing purposes. He was still mongo-headed when I left.

I'm not too sure that Heston's likeness is still available. My discussion with Mat Falls at SDCC this year leads me to believe that a Taylor PF was in the works but was stopped right before production due to the lack of likeness license. Perhaps since his death, his estate has gotten more protective of his likeness.

I think that Alex would be our only hope for another Taylor sculpt at this point.

I'm sure that when (not IF) we get the next wave of figures they will be all Apes. And probably mostly chimps.

I too would love to see HT tackle figures SS passed on... like Armageddon Zaius or Julius. And the Ape-O-Nauts would be expensive, yes... but they would be mine nevertheless.

I just wanted "pop" the balloon of everyone else dreaming of a HT Taylor. It just ain't gonna happen.

I don't see that each wave of Hot Toys must necessarily consist of one particular species of ape... or that we would again get three figures in each wave. We might just get two. Or one. Please let there be more than one.

But if there is to be a third Chimp, I would vote for a Caesar Circus version with the all leather tunic... even though he appears that way only at the beginning of Conquest. Or they might elect to pull another Gorilla Captain variant tactic, but this time make a variation of Cornelius by releasing a Battle Caesar.

I welcome more apes, be it one, two or three figures. However, the hair really needs to improve an awful lot, or Hot Toys won't get my hard earned money. I can't even imagine "real" hair on the chimps or orangutans. I believe that hairstyles and colors will be scrutinized even more on these figures. Because of this, they can’t be of the same quality as the Hot Toys gorillas. They’ll have to be much better.

We already know the clothes (and the accessories) for any figures made by Hot Toys will be spectacular. No worries there.

Yea...I'm very worried about how Zira will look, because she is a must-have ape...Hot Toys better not use that fake fur on her head. I'll be so mad.

Let's just say that 1:1 scale is very difficult to achieve that hairline/overall 60s bouffant...can they emulate it in 1:6 scale?

I'm not very aware of what types of figures there are out there...but does anybody know of a female figure 1:6 scale that has perfect real hair...that doesn't look doll-like, or Barbie-like? And can you post photos so that I can see what you are talking about?

My wife has done several customs that have extremely real looking hair, but she re-roots and styles them herself, so I guess that doesn't really count, does it?...PS
