If a company could make a believable hairdo based on 1970's Farrah Fawcett, I predict they would be a leading company. Is that possible though?

I'm totally for different characters. The more obscure the better for me. I'm bored with the monotony of regular characters revisited over and over again but I guarantee Taylor will be in the mix soon.

I think that getting Heston's exact license on a future HT figure, as PZ had pointed out, would be difficult. Your best bet for Heston's likeness would be Alex. But no doubt HT would probably hit Heston's outfit way out of the ballpark...even including the little gadgets and gizmos in his working backpack.
Guys it's been several days since I enlarged Pete's head with Pano Cast. It's just as fugly as ever. I have started resculpting his head to a proper size by sculpting over one of the casts I already have. I will try Pano Cast one more time...but maybe not leave it in the water for more than a few minutes.

Well, the gorillas ARE more kisseable with the fake fur.
Now if Hot Toys can just wow me like this customizer has wowed me with his Bruce Lee and rehair, then I'll just STFU and shell out serious chimpchange. Gladly.

I like it a lot more than I would have originally thought. It really sets them off from all of the rest... well, I don't really count Hasbro.
However, if Hot Toys is to continue with the real hair approach the next releases are going to be a bit more demanding than what they faced with the gorillas. Zaius has those bangs of his and Zira has that signature curl in the back. Adding to that both the chimpanzees and the organutans have exposed ears... an issue that the first wave of gorillas didn't have to address.
I'm interested to see how Hot Toys is going to deal with these challenges.
I think the bangs on orangutans are not as difficult to achieve as that curl Zira has. Hot Toys just has to worry about Dr. Zaius' cowlick, but that's nothing that Barbie dolls don't have already. Bangs are not really that difficult I would guess...but that 60s bouffant? Well...I have yet to see one done up. I'm sure Hot Toys research/creative team will do their homework and make it spectacular. All I ask is that they don't give the chimpanzees the fake hair.

Okay, you monkeys, here are a few samples of what my wife does with hair...
This is her version of Inara, inspired by "Serenity". She did her as a commission. When the client decided to get out of the hobby, Chris re-aquired her...
Anita Blake, from the books by Laurell Hamilton. A kick-ass monster killer...
An experiment with Afro-American braids.
Not all have mega-hair. This is our take on "Miss Fear" from G.I.Joe...
The Scarlett Empress;IMHO her best work.
These represent a small sample of her work;we currently have over 300 figures in our collection. I'd guess at least 1/5 are custom work, most of those by Chris(my work tends to be a bit less pretty)...PS

That's what I would want as well. I really don't like sideshow's Caesar sculpt and would love a great Caesar sculpt... although I have little faith in hot toys after seeing the gorillas.

Funny and true story, guys! My sister was watching a movie on tv, and she just noticed my angel on the fireplace mantle. She gasped and said, OMG! That angel...it's got....it's got ape features!
I busted out laughing so hard. She was just so shocked to see it.
