Thank you. It is good to show my collection to fans instead of hearing "I could have had a new kitchen." ;)

Sixx,
Your hairy apes look great.

I don’t consider myself a good painter but I keep trying.

I'm away from home right now, so I can't check all my paints right now. (sorry).
However, a while back, I took notes from a previous post (Angel's I think?) here on the mega-thread:
Citadel - Tallarn Flesh
Citadel - Snakebite Leather
Citadel - Gryphonne Sepia Wash
Citadel - Devlan Mud Wash
Citadel - Baal Red Wash
Citadel - Badab Black Wash
Model Master flat lacquer

I used to work from dark (black automotive primer) to light but with washes, I have been working from light(white primer) to dark more.

I add many "wash / allow to dry / seal with flat spray" cycles until I am satisfied.

I have more paints that I use, but it will be a while before I get back to my work bench to check.

I look forward to seeing more pics from everyone's projects.

This is Mego scale, guys...but it shows the embossed leather on the sleeve's hieroglyph:

Thank you for helping me. Do you use a citadel white primer. Do you have a specific name for the primer you use. I'm looking for a white one.

I've used a Krylon white primer, but I think Citadel white primer should work great.

I was buying Citadel paint and the cashier recommended Citadel white primer. He showed me some of his miniatures with just a primer coat and it looked good - not too thick, no detail loss, etc. Citadel white primer is expensive, but hopefully worth it.

oh.. and I always wash the part to paint with Ajax / Comet with a toothbrush before the first application of paint.

Thank you for being so helpful. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you. :D

And a HUGE "thanks" to Angel for helping me increase my ape population.

When I get back home, I hope to set up a better photo shoot.

Hello DP, nice pictures. What horse is Dr. Z on? Is that a DiD horse? It looks so much better than the brown looking rat horse they put out a while back. Thank you for sharing your pictures.

I just splurged on some leather for my Ursus helmet. It's coming from Italy and should be here in about 10 days. Originally I was just going to get some leather from jackets at Goodwill, but I want to make sure that the leather is big enough and that it at least matches. I'm also doing research on the best way to get a mold out of this without destroying my sculpt (in case I have to make another mold if the first mold is not perfect). I will have to use my 1:6 knowledge/experience and just make a bigger batch of RTV...and also I am going to make a mother mold. My first one. Yay.

I have recessed the edge of the hieroglyph area in preparation for a layer of leather on my cast. Figured it's easier to shape the clay as much as possible now and avoid or minimize future dremel work later.

Hey Stickman,
Yes, that is the black DiD horse. I purchased 2 DiD horses (brown and black) way back before I read that they didn't look good.:monkey4
thanks.:)

IM, (or anyone )...
BTW
I am also interested in purchasing any 1/6 scale resin ape heads like Sixx mentioned.

Just popping in to say I always love looking at the craftsmanship thats displayed in this thread. Such great work is always a joy to behold. :D
