For the love of God, please stop! :lol

......And that's the reason why I don't go camping. My idea of 'roughin' it is behind the windshield of my car.

Okay, all this time I thought you lived in Australia?

Those are Earwigs. They love dampness. I have to be careful in the summer because they like to hang out in my mailbox. You reach in to get the mail and one nabs you. One got ahold of my pinky once and pinched the skin together so hard that it cut the skin off.

I found a nest of them outside around my one tree. They burrow down along the base. My brother told me to boil water and dump down the hole and I did. They sounded like rice crispies when you pour milk on it! NASTY!!!

We have Tarantula Hawks around here and I have seen them swoop down, sting it let and then fly off with Tarantula :horror

The sick part is they keep them alive and lay egss in them and then the larva feed of the still living Tarantula.:horror:horror

Damn! Never heard of a Tarantula Hawk.

Bad Ass to the first statement above.:rock

Double Bad Ass to the second statement above.:rock:rock

I've got a pet tarantula. I love spiders , can't stand house spiders though ( if that makes sense ). They move way to fast and there too thin. Creepy.

Scorpions never bothered me but I wouldn't want them crawling around the house. I've seen a few in pet shops and one on the floor once is Spain. No wild ones in England so far. :lol

I saw a bird eating spider in the pet shop I bought my Chilean Rose. That was unbelivably big , about the size of a dinner plate and looked hairless. MASSIVE. People buy them to breed as well. :horror

Creepy and Yuck!:monkey4

Just a quick science lesson too.

Poisonous = designed to kill the victim when either eaten or touched.

Venomous = will kill victim by releasing venom by biting or stinging

Generally animals/insects are venomous and plants are poisonous. There are some poisonous frogs and lizards.

Happy we really don't have anything like this in New England. Not a fan of spiders or scorpions. They kinda creep me out. Pet stores up here have scorpions in empty fish tanks where you can take them home as pets.

looks like army worms. we used to have millions of army worms when i lived in Duluth. some idiot thought they would help with the misquitos cuz their moth form eats them. but instead we traded mosquitos for worms everywhere. you'd go out in summer and the sidewalks would just be black with them. you couldn't go for a walk without stepping on them. they would even drop from trees onto your face.:yuck

nothing better than bugs wrestling :rock:rock:rock:rock

possibly bugs fighting with swords :lecture

My cat just plays with them, she'll paw them to death and then pounce. I don't think she'll eat them though.

My cat eats most bugs. If I ever catch a spider in the house I always give it to my cat and watch her eat it, gives me a small sense of power, kinda like jabba and his rancor.
