Hello All

So I'am starting to modify my room and am making three floating glass shelves for my new centre speaker and my sideshow statues the glass i got my first shelve on order 6mm thick and is toughened.

is this strong enough for 2 statues evil queen and maleficent and a centre speaker or should i have gone 8mm or 10mm in addition I'am using these brackets.

Hi there is a shelves section at the bottom of the forum.

Maybe better to post this there :)

I'm not too familiar with those brackets but when it comes to placing the statues on shelves, aslan_gfx's collection comes to my mind. You can take a look to see what he used.

I would have to know the thickness of the metal bracket involved but I would imagine a bracket like that would easily support your statues up to some serious weight (50 pounds - I am guessing obviously)... so long as the nails / screws are in studs and not just floating in drywall. But since you are using glass, the width of the shelf would then become the real factor if you are really concerned that the glass would shatter in the middle from overload, but if you are only worried about the wall bracket you could almost definitely get away with a good molly, but then the supported weight would be about half the stud solution... Does the product not have details or are you just using raw materials? Either way ---> when in doubt, double the factors if you don't want to worry, maybe add a third bracket per shelf...
