Should Aliens/Robots become "SciFi"?

I say no. Other stuff that I care about would just get lost amongst The Predator and Terminator Threads. A bit like a Flash, Green Lantern or Wonder woman Thread in the Joker, Oh sorry DC Section

Problem is -- STAR WARS would also have to go here if it's all Sci-Fi.

SciFi's probably too generic. It's kind of like saying "Special Effects" movies... it just covers too much ground.

Maybe now that LOTR is finished (or at least minimized to the occasional PF), it's section should be merged with the General Forum...

Or perhaps a new section for things like LOTR, Star Trek, Apes... not sure what to call that though.


I wonder if a major overhaul would help. Like making the sections more GENRE specific:

Horror (like we have)
SciFi (everything but Star Wars)
Action Adventure (Indy Jones, Bond, etc)
Comics and Anime

That sort of thing, then within each Genre section, make specific sub-sections: Terminator, Alien, Predator, Indiana Jones...whatever, so that things are more organized and sections can be created or deleted as need be without overhauling the entire super-section. Then Star Wars could be a sub-section in the Sci-Fi super-section.

The first thing I wanted to say is that I see the need for another sci-fi section. ROBOTS AND ALIENS is so actively busy with just the licenses it covers, it wouldn't be fair or prudent add more themes or licenses into it.

Voted No... but as some have mentioned, it would be good to have a separate Sci-Fi section for Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, BSG and other Sci-Fi properties. And although Star Wars is also Sci-Fi, the vast number of licenses and products from that franchise are better in its own current section.

I think it's fine as is. I acutally like as many sections as possible.

If I could change anything, I would delete threads that haven't had hits for a long time, that would keep newer members from reviving threads that died a year ago.
