MY SSC Clone Captain Phase 1 "Red"

Here are pics of my new to me SSC Clone Captain Phase 1 "Red" which I bought from a fellow forum member Craig77. I compaired it to my SSC 212 clonetrooper and the only main difference between the two not including the colors is the helmets. So if I was to replace the helmet with a helmet similar to the 212 figure would it be a phase 2 clonetrooper? Here are pics of my new clonetrooper..... Harold

Re: MY SSC Clone Captain Phase 1 "Red"

After closer inspection of this figure I see it has a ribbed black under suit not a plain rubberized one. I didn't get the box with figure so couldn't read the info on the inside sections.... did this figure have a name like some of the other clone figures?

Nope he was just a phase 1 clone trooper captain no special name.

Re: MY SSC Clone Captain Phase 1 "Red"

the older clones had the rubber suits..the newer ones have the cloth ones..and who knows about the new, new ones...lol..
as for ph 1 and ph 2...the only real difference is the helmets..technically(according to wiki)...the ph 1 armor was built and was too bulky for the clones...so came in the ph 2 armor..which was made a lot better, etc..form fitting..blah blah blah...BUT really..with the clone figures...the armor looks the same...except for the obvious helmets...ph 1 - more like jango/boba..ph 2..almost like the stormtrooper...basically...i was curious about the armor as well..so i looked it up awhile back...that is the short version....lol..hope that helps a bit...

btw..im glad that you are getting away from the hasbro clones and getting the sideshow ones..they are soooo much better...and having the four basic colors is cool..took me forever to get the other 3..the red one, was one of my first...lol...good luck trying to get the yellow and blue ones..those are the 2 rarest...with patience, you can get them...

when i first starting getting into the clones and repainting them, etc...i had several sets of this guy..but never actually put him together..used the parts for other bashes..my mistake...lol..

Looks great!

As an aside, here's an issue I have with some of the weathering we see in the movies and on a number of figures here... As Tatooine is essentially a desert planet, with so little moisture that they have to farm it out of the air, why does the weathering look like mud residue?

Don't get me wrong, the weathering, including on the above Marmit looks fantastic, but the whole muddy thing (crusted dirt) is kind of odd for a desert planet. Now if these guys had been deployed on Endor...

Something to think about. ;)

I know what you mean. The colour in hands is more of a rusted orange rather than brown though. Making it looks more rusted or incrusted by sand rather than mud.

To me I just like them dirty and rusted to contrast with the shiny white stormie.

Whatever the color, that's an excellent piece of art you've created there.

Man, I just hope they get around to making a Biker Scout soon. I'm happy for all the clone fans out there, but really wish the original troopers would get half the amount of love those guys get from SS.

:dunno

Sandtroopers never had blaster holsters

Which means this Sandtrooper is even better than the ones in the movies, where some assistant obviously forgot to put the holsters on the costumes. Too bad Lucas has sold LucasFilm, otherwise you'd probably see holsters digitally added for the next special edition. ;)
