nice pic zsasz.
thanks, JD.
did some more work on joker earlier today--yesterday rather. have now gone and begun weathering the coat, pants and shoes in acrylics. previously i had only done it in pastels. im not done yet but it's coming along. want this version to be as filthy as possible haha. anyway, i've been doing work on it for a while now. so i'm not sure when exactly i'll be done as i keep seeing things i want to improve. anyway, here's where it's at now:

This looks fantastic. Great job. I always remember the film makers saying they wanted the joker to look grubby and appear as though you could almost smell him. Well this joker looks like he smells. Which is supposed to be a compliment. Haha.

thanks guys. was pretty nervous about doing the work on him but luckily i didnt mess it up too badly haha. thank you, means a lot. kinda sad i'm almost done. was my first attempt at weathering and various other things i did. but i am looking forward to a couple other projects i have planned. just hope i get to everything soon.

@russell1982: take that as a big compliment, for sure. i'm glad you could taste the 'scent work' i did with him. the next wave of sixth scale modding is running on three of five senses haha.

dark knight with a modded medi cowl, tony meis cape and kojun wayne sculpt faceplate. and some other mods to the suit. might do more work on the suit but for now, i like him.

Great mods, and that Joker looks so real its scary. To the point where you almost have to convince your self it's just a figure. :thud:

thanks wurstcollector. yeah, feel the same about joker; adam and kato did really great work.

They definitely did a great collaboration, the end result is incredible. I'm not the type to post a lot of comments; I just browse more than anything. But when I see work like this I feel compelled to make a comment. One day I hope to dive into the "custom" market, and take a masterpiece like adam/kato's Joker and add it to my personal collection. A lot of great artists/tailors in this community with so much talent. So much talent that I have shown some friends (not collectors by any means, but fans of great movies and characters a like) and they are blown away. Example: I just showed this same picture to my older cousin (40's). His response "Holy ****! Where can I get a figure so detailed?" I respond "It's a custom piece made by some members on this site." He replied "This is so incredible . . . look at the detail . . ." 5 mins later he started sending the screen cap to his friends, and now I just received text messages as to where something like this can be purchased. When you have people outside of the community commemorating the custom world of this hobby it goes to show you how incredible the talent around here. Sorry for getting so deep, but I feel I had to share my opinion and story :hi5:

no worries, you're definitely preaching to the choir. i would browse the site once in a while but not too intently and only had the HT joker releases until last summer when i met mrm through ebay. and once i got his joker custom in hand, i was pouring through the custom pages and as soon as i saw adam's work i wanted it absolutely for my collection. now i have a collection of about 20 and all except for one figure is custom in some way. and only about 3 of these are mostly stock. the custom world is really amazing: there is a wealth of talent and it keeps getting bigger; i'm a little scared truthfully because i managed over the course of 6 months to get all my biggest 'wants' in some way or another and i havent stopped haha. i'm thrilled the people to whom you showed adam/kato joker too were into it. they have every reason to be. i feel a bit bad saying so but i think it's even better in hand than my poor phone pics can convey.
by the way: is that scorsese and deniro from 'casino' in your avatar? man, i'd love to work with scorsese some day. really hope he gets to do 'Silence'; it's a great story and i bet his film adapatation would be stellar. maybe i'll get as lucky as i have gotten with my sixth scale collection and he will cast me as a Jesuit missionary; man how life affirming would an experience like that be haha.

I'm gonna put a pic up soon, Only have DX 12 and DX 09. I gotta say, the 1/6 figure collection just seems more enjoyable to me than statue collecting for me. I recently started collecting Hot Toys and I just feel like it's christmas every time I open up one of these guys :lol

Alexi, sorry if this has been asked before. How much did you pay for your custom Joker headsculpt and do you know where one could find one today? I think it's almost a crime to collectors that that headsculpt isn't available to every Joker fan... :lol

I could only imagine, everything IMO is always better in hand. haha

Yes it is Scorsese (2nd fav director) and DeNiro (fav actor of all time) from Casino (fav movie of all time). I remember reading about the adaption of "Silence" way back in 2009; with talks of Daniel Day-Lewis and Benicio Del Toro for the leads. Not sure how much rumor was to that, but I'd love to see DDL pull-off a Portuguese accent (I'm from Portuguese descent). Maybe you can beat them to the role haha. It would be great to work with Marty, truly an opportunity no film buff would turn down. Are you in the industry?

yeah though not in the same league with the likes of those mentioned haha... have been doing theatre and not moved into screen work yet. yeah i had read that as well regarding del toro and day lewis. not sure how cemented it was either. i think i remember reading that del toro backed out due to other commitments. not sure. read recently, scorsese says he wants to do it next, after 'wolf of wall street' and before 'the irishman'--which will have deniro, pacino, among others. i know he has been trying to get 'silence' done for a while. really hopeful it happens soon.

@dracula: yeah i dont really feel so comfortable posting the exact number in a thread but it was pretty pricey: a very good deal more than i had paid for anything else. well, i guess closest was the rainman dx day lewis plainview with the 1/2 oily sculpt variant but i split that with a friend and took only the oily HS and a couple accessories as i had an H&C already. i also got the joker figure complete with full kato custom set and body so i can't actually say what i was charged for what. if you're really interested, shoot me a pm, i guess. i can say that i imagine it will take a fair bit of money to pry one from those who have it--if they will even sell; i wouldnt. but my advice to all those who ask about how to find one is to--if possible--keep a cache of $ available for such a piece and go through the thread titled, 'how many people are waiting on their commissions from imaresqd1?' to see who has gotten one and then when you're ready financially, pm them with exhorbitant offers and hope someone bites. many won't but you have to be persistent. and possibly ready to throw an ungodly amount of mulah--for a damn toy--at someone. and keep your hawk eyes at the sales forum as sometimes, just sometimes, one pops up. thanksgiving day mine turned up for sale and i leapt at it.
but there are also other great joker customs to be found. so you have other options for sure.
hope this helps.

Well I think theatre really brings out the acting potential of any actor. Working in circumstances, such as a live audience could only make one a better actor IMO. It's really about being in the moment and executing what you have to offer to the role, or else you can ruin an entire production in a matter of seconds. Being an actor on screen after being in theatre; I would imagine it would be easier. Time to rehearse your lines between takes, take a few minutes to keep your composure, etc. Maybe we can collaborate too one day hahaha (I'm trying to write a script at the moment)

I can't wait for Wolf of Wall Street, solely because of the Dicaprio/Scorsese collabo and how great the story can be interpreted through the eyes of Marty. Now that I'm more aware of the story (Silence) itself, I hope it happens soon too. :yess:
