Received mine today but it's gonna be straight back to SSC for a replacement... right inner arm piston broken and a couple other things too. The one thing I'm not sure of because I can't see anything similar on the rest of the figure are two marks/blemishes that potentially could have been from fingerprints scrubbed away or something else. They also could be entirely on purpose, but for those who own the figure do you have either of these marks on the head?

Look at the distance between the bottom, center of the clavical and the bottom, center of the pectorals. It's double on the SS. Just an observation.

It's like the real 3PO is wearing a deep V neck shirt and the SS is wearing a choker.

Tamashii is better. There's no argument to be made. With Sideshow's attempt, the body proportions, curves and lines don't match up to the real thing. And that's just a quick glance at the face and chest of 3PO. The curve under, and shape of, the pecs, the way the bottom of the neck "pistons" land just inside the clavicle indent instead of outside of it, etc., etc., etc...

SS left, Tamashii right.

The Tamashii is much more accurate. And metal, like a real droid.

Opinions are like a$$holes... everyone's got one.

The Tama is FAAAAAAARRRRRR from perfect.

Nah, the Tama is close to perfect. So is the Sideshow. Anyone who has either of these and can't find their way through the respective shortcomings to enjoy what they have is a kind of joyless uber-nerd who perhaps should get outdoors more often.

I think people need to settle down with their "mine's bigger than yours" crap.

As has been stated by those able to be mature enough to accept it, there are pro's and con's for both.

Here's the Tama on the left and a screen grab straight off Ep4. And don't start with the lighting, lens aberration, etc. The SCULPT is what we're talking about. As an example, anyone that can't admit how bad the area around the eyes is, is simply fooling themselves.

Judge for yourselves:

Looks like something went wrong in the paint application. Perhaps some compressor oil or moisture, or something like that got in the paint lines. Shouldn't have gotten through QC, send it back.

Some of these nitpicks are so outlandish.

Cheers guys! :duff

Hot Toys needs to step in and take the perfect crown.

I assume that will be our destiny.

However, I do see many things they got wrong besides "pistons in the clavicles" they got right. I don't see the chest area to look particularly accurate, not the necks rings, nor neck, etc, etc...

That said, its a spectacular piece. Not sure its 'more' accurate than Sideshow's though. They both have pros and cons.

Yeah, when I look at the SS vs Tama that's a spot where the SS looks better to me (chest). Tama looks a tiny bit barrel chested in comparison.

Mine just got here right before I leave for work.:yess:

Yes it's expensive.... But I like it at the first look :D

Looks almost perfect to me :lol

Yeah, the Tama has some pretty obvious minor inaccuracies throughout but to me the headsculpt is much closer than the SSC. Just judging by pics (my SSC isn't here till next week) I would say headsculpt is one of the strongest points of the Tama and one of the weakest points of the SSC.

SSC has improved their sculpt a lot versus the PF though...
