:duff. You have the Tama too right? If so are you keeping both?

Been so busy haven't pulled out my Tama yet, but yes I'm keeping that one (I need two - one for Jabba's Palace dio, one for "hero display" beside R2 on my special double display stand) Will have them side-by-side in a few days to decide who gets the hero spot and who gets tossed into scum and villainy.

This figure is GREAT in hand. Fragile as hell but a wonderful display piece. Mine came with a broken shoulder - the left shoulder piece is loose and slips off if you don't hold it while you position the arm, and the seam leading to the piston isn't glued - so I've requested a replacement from Sideshow. Hope they're well stocked with replacement arms, they're going to need 'em. But overall I'm really happy.

Scum and villainy is my favourite ssc original line for SW.
So many great creatures, hope we get to see more of them.
Reebo band would be the ultimate expansion pack, but would cost SO many dollars...
I've had the hasbro 'book' 3po translating for jabba for the last couple of years. And will be replaced by this guy eventually20160125_210834.jpg

I have the Tamashii but might get this too. Can't decide if I like it or the Tamashii will overshadow it.

Personally, I don't think it comes near the Tamashii. It feels like an animated Star Wars 3PO, it's nice but off. And I'm not going near another QC issue product from SS for a while, I have had my fingers burnt too many times now.

I agree and love the figure as a whole; I wish the crotch grabber would allow his legs to be closer together but they pop apart when he's placed on the stand. You did mod his thumbs, yes?

I'm not sure this was discussed but after receiving 3PO I thought R2's restraining bolt was over-sized, but after looking at pics it seems 3PO's is smaller than it should be.

That Jabba backdrop is amazing! Please tell me where you got it or where I can get one!

I managed to fold one of the wire arms over the other so that the grabber is much narrower.

I usually replace the U type supports with the C-type (around the waist). Easy to find on evilbay.

Not sure if it's the angles here but the thumbs on yours look much better, almost like they're supposed to be. Are there some good ones out there? The eyes on yours are spot on too. Other than the shoulder issue, it looks like you received a good one!

I've just emailed the Sideshow returns dept about mine after getting fobbed off with my initial query about the thumbs (and waiting 5 days for a response which basically just told me to email returns). Other than the thumbs, it's the eyes that are annoying me as they're not centred. Didn't really notice it too much at first and I've seen it on other peoples too but it's becoming more glaring the more I look at it. Hopefully they can send a replacement head.

Can you take a close up of the hands, to me it looks like the thumbs are correct on this figure. If that's the case, all hell's gonna break loose with SSC!

I asked McFly about the thumb on the previous page...there's no way the wacky thumbs would do what his is doing.

Not slighting at your comment, but articulated fingers are not a overly complex engineering process. I'm staring at 30+ Iron man figures each with differently sculpted sets of hands and moulds going into them and they are absolutely perfect in function and execution. (with light up functionality as well)

The big issue I have with 3po's mits are the top of the hands. The rake effect is because there is no arc on the top of the hands. Had they been bent the hands with a curve inwards it could have concealed much of the thumb misalignment. Luckily we have some crack modders (Glactiboy) that showed how to fix the thumb.

If you want an example of brave, check out the paint job on the HT Copper Stormrooper. It is an art piece in hand and stunningly beautiful. That could have been a holy mess with scratches and poor paint application.

Thanks for your comment, IM figures aren't really my area but I can see they're beautifully designed. In terms of engineering and what they're prepared to attempt I think HT are ahead of SSC, which is why it was brave of them to try and do something extra. I thought Artoo was a great box of tricks too, unfortunately it just felt cheap.

I'll have to go check out the copper ST now. I hadn't really paid much attention to it, I hope I don't find myself going after it! I'm pretty broke after this amazing run of ANH figures.

Incidentally I wouldn't call myself a HT fanboy, but I'm definitely a fan of the ANH 'line'. None of them is perfect, but most are 80% right and still look and feel amazing in hand. And I think it's incredible we got all that in around a year.
