Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

Considering that each successive Clone that Sideshow has produced has had little adjustments to make them even better (the recently released AOTC Lieutenant is a fine example - excellent figure), I think it's a safe bet that Cody will be among the best...

As long as he's geared up for me to acheice this pose for display, I'm happy.... :)

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

I think I'll be using the Order 66 pose for Cody, I like that the blue of the hologram adds a little boost to a fairly lifeless character, as far as colors, and I really like poses that suggest capturing the character in a moment of action compared to something more suggestive of striking a pose for a promo photo shoot.

yeah, that's gonna be pretty sweet for people that also have ROTS Obi-Wan. But for me, Order 66 pose all the way:rock

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

I'm pretty sure I will go with the order 66 pose. Just something iconic from ROTS but not because I consider the character lifeless. On the other I'll display the CW Helm.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

If he can do the pose just where he says "Blast Him!" then I shall be happy...

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

Looks great... wasn't sure I needed a Cody, but the teaser has me thinking otherwise.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

why? It's PO on Thursday night newsletter. Obviously there will be plenty to order.

I'd prefer to get it from an AD in the UK rather than pay all the charges.
I don't get the exclusive stands so it makes it a lot easier.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

Sweet i cant wait for thursday to order this fig. Its about time they made cody. I'll be leaving the phase 2 helmet on him way better than phase 1.

I gotcha....so you just hope for a non exclusive so you don't have to order it from SS....yeah those fees do suck....

LIFELESS?!?! Wow...
I would never consider Cody (or any of these clones) "lifeless"...:horror

While I appreciate Sideshow including the holo-transmission (and I hope it's fixed to an alternate hand and not a loose accessory)and I realize that moment of Cody receiving "Order 66" is the "iconic" and most often rendered look for the character (see the two different busts that have been produced)...I like the saber-handing pose because it's also a great moment for the character.

It's a dynamic moment of transition captured in a single motion...Cody, helmet held under one arm, revealing his clone face to his General (a potent reminder to Kenobi of the source of these soldiers he commands), handing him his Jedi weapon in a moment of respect and duty. It's only moments later, when Cody receives that fateful order, does the culmination of all that Kaminoan genetic tampering have this soldier follow his commander-in-cheif's order without question....

It's one of the most powerful moments in "Revenge of the Sith" and I can't wait to capture it with this figure...

(Forgive my over-abundance of enthusiasm here, but I haven't been this excited about a figure for a while!...)

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

I think you guys are misreading me, I said lifeless as far as color. He's just a little black, white, and some yellow, I find the blue of the Sidious hologram would add a little more life to him from a color standpoint. I love the character and I'm really glad he's finally being released, just saying that for a display, I find the color of the hologram adds a little more pop for me.

I like how this looks.

Compared to something like this.

Understood.
But I really like the option of displaying him with no helmet...the one clone in the line-up that will show that face...I just think that alone will make it stand out in a display of clones...

And especially if the sculpt and paint apps turn out really well...

I don't know if I would even say the color of him or how he looks lifeless. I love the design on this guy as do I with all the commanders really.

I'm just finding the Star Wars line a bit lackluster in color, while it's true to the film costume, there's a lot of blacks, greys, browns, whites, when you have a lot of figures in that basic color scheme, you start to lose them amongst each other, figures like the Gamorrean, Greedo, Yoda and even Cody with the hologram will add more color to the visual display. It's just my personal thing.

That's what the second one'll be for... :hi5: I'm definitely getting two.:1-1:

Should still be Trev's portrait shown at SDCC 2009, can't wait to see the final result.

I have to agree with this. Although the fact that the colors have a strong tendancy to hover around plain usually comes in under my radar, I do find myself taking notice of brighter colors infused into the costumes/accessories in the Star Wars line. And I find it to be a nice little bonus as well.

I guess. Its not Mardi Gras so I don't expect the rainbow of colors you get there. Plenty of colors for me I suppose. Basically I always thought each figure stood out just fine on the shelf and on screen.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 Commander Cody - NEWSLETTER PO 8/19

I haven't bought multiples of a figure since Jedi Luke. This might be another that I do that. I want ROTS Cody, CW Cody and an unmasked version...depending on how much of a discount I can snag on the secondary market or through ADs I might have to see. Either way Hastings will probably get some and discount those....
